I am thinking of getting Opteron and overclocing it and I havnt had the best of luck in the past with overclocking so far.
Also would it be better to use water cooling over fans if the room your PC was in was not cooled real good?

Yea, and the new cores are supose to hadle the Low temps better, read were you can only lower the temp so far on them now the have a low end point just like a High end point. Note I cant say this is true but was just were they were having problems with Vapchill units
yep you might be better off geting two 2.6gh Opetrons they are like $863 each. That is more speed for less $ and you wont have to worry about how the dual cores handel the memory.
