Question Is the i7 10700K still a good option for a gaming PC?

I think it's really a 6c/6t CPU that would become outdated in a few years not a 6 core threaded CPU with very strong cores.

To answer your question no - it's not and it would not be even if you were using an I7 8700 non-k. As long as you have a half decent CPU all you really need is the GPU. You don't need K SKU's, or AMD X SKU's. For me what matters most is stability and reliability and a very good GPU with regards...

Question Rate my computer by today's standards...

My advice is to get a nice GPU to work with your system now, and when the new AMD processors are out and reviewed weigh it against Intel's offerings and make your decision on the processor and other parts at that time.

Gaming PC has terrible FPS, resources barely dented.

I'm guessing by the price of $200.00 that it's an OEM system with a 1st or second gen I7. If I were you I would see if I could snag something like a used GTX 760, HD 7950, R9 270x. HD 7850-7870, or a newer GTX 1050 2GB if you can spare the cash games will run miles better.

Laptop gpu prices

Maybe ever so slightly the more you scale up with GPU power but not much because the OEM's like Acer, Dell, HP, MSI, Asus etc .. need to sell these units to regular consumers as entire unit thus not really affected. Although I expect the prices for these units to go up eventually because of that...

Choice of two Mobos - Which One?

I can relate with potentially wanting a smaller build/box. I've had a 4770k/Z87 mATX in a mid sized case since 2014 and just recently bought a nice micro case and boy Am I glad I did because I reclaimed some desk space.
