Found a site that claims you can disable a big amout of services in Windows 7, if you have it as a standalone computer connected to Internet. I'm a bit sceptical. Could someone look at this? "Start button/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services Right click on the following services...

Encrypt folders without password

I'm sitting on Windows 7 Home Premium. I know in Professional you can encrypt folders without password. I'm trying to find a free alternative to use in Home Premium. Anybody knows good softwares for this?

Hay. Disabled a huge amount of services in Windows 7 Professional. I then tried to set up my yahoo account with Thunderbird, but i get the message "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account". Can it be because it need a Windows service? :\

Thanks for your help. Sfc /scannow said it found problems, but couldn't fix them all. I allso uninstalled, and reinstalled the soundcard drivers. The registry cleaning backups are long gone D:. I think i will have to reinstall Windows, because the problem persists.

Hay, i run Windows 7 Home Premium. My volume control is messed up. Sometimes it doesn't come up when i click it, sometimes it shows up when i click it, but it have the look of one of the webpages i'm reading with my browser if you know what i mean. Sometimes it is totally black. So i would like...
