Need to replace old B router Dlink DIR-601, Netgear WGR614, or WRT54G2?

Mmm. Not a big fan of Netgear. I have the WGR614 as well as the 4 port router only version. I am having to reset these things far too often, and they run hot.

q9550 Overclocking..

I echo dguy6789's comments, just do 3.4mhz. I'm running everything at 400mhz at 1.2v. Any of the utilities I use actually report an even lower voltage. It's rock solid. You shouldn't need 1.328v. I have four memory modules installed and they are very finicky about anything above 800mhz...

Just replaced a q9400 with a q9550. I blew up the q9400 after accidentally setting the voltage to high. It was late, too much wine and I think I thought I was adjusting the Memory Voltage. Boy did I really struggled to get 4 modules running. Reboot after reboot, and a fried CPU later I'm now...

Is the Phenom II X3 705e just an underclocked and undervolted 710/720

I see that AMD has introduced new lower power processors. The processor I am particularly interested in is the X3 705e. When reviewing the specs the only real difference I could see was a 100mhz lower clock and a lower operating voltage of basically 0.2V, compared to the X3 710 for example...

ASUS M3N78-EM Vcore Settings??

Can anyone lend some insight regarding CPU voltage adjustments on the ASUS M3N78-EM motherboard. The bios seems very limited (+50mv,+100mv,+150mv) or I'm missing how to access the adjustments. It currently shows 1.41 volts in the Bios, however the Asus system monitoring software shows 1.17...

CPU versus Memory for Overclock?

Thanks for the input, I'll give both consideration. I'm using an Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, so if the CPU is capable, the higher clock shouldn't be an issue. I've played it conservatively so far. I somehow thought that synchronous operation of memory was the best option.

Photoshop CS3 CPU Usage

I actually just completed a re-install of Windows XP up to SP3. It's taken me almost all day to get everything back up and running. I had been moving the install from various drives and upgrading. It was getting pretty slow. I tried running the RetouchArtists Speedtest again and I get 35s...

Photoshop CS3 CPU Usage

I think I have more serious issues at the moment. I ran the RetouchArtists Speedtest and Photoshop is hanging/not responding during the filter tests. It's taking over 5 minutes to run. Heck my laptop will do it in 73s. Something is seriously wrong. I'm now in a debug mode for my computer...

Q8200 vs.E8400?

I also picked up a Q9400 from Microcenter. Great deal! I'm clocking mine very modestly. I'm using old 800Mhz memory that so far has clocked to 820mhz without problems. I'm getting 3.28Mhz without much effort. I've considered getting some 1066Mhz memory but it seems like a waste of money...

Photoshop CS3 CPU Usage

I just installed a Q9400 and was curious to see if it would actually yield any tangible benefits. What I see is usage across all cores that is roughly north of 50% with one core reaching as high as 80%. Peak reported is 67%, but only rarely and I assume an average. Similar to what I have read...

E2160 Overclock

Just bought a Q9400 from Microcenter for in-store pickup. I guess I got carried away but at $179 +tax I could not resist. It's like walking in to check out the Yaris and driving off in a Loaded Camry. With a mild overclock this should make CS3 humm and keep me happy for a few more months and...

Awesome link. $179 for a Q9400!! I found one here in Philly, I just have to figure out how and when to actually get it. This is way cheaper than anybody else. My wife has the car and if I have to resort to Zipcar I may as well buy it online.

E2160 Overclock

Thanks for the advice, I was actually thinking about buying the E7200. I was also looking at the E8600 and E8700 but thought I might go for a 45nm chip. I may rethink that. I use Photoshop CS3 and considered a QUAD, although I've heard utilization on all cores is not as good as it could be...
