All these times whenever I opened an application, a folder or a web page, there would be a corresponding icon appearing at the WinXP bottom toolbar.
For some reasons, all the icons are now missing even though I open new application, folder and webpage.
This has caused me a lot of...
I need help. I set the values as follow to get a 20% OC but PC is not stable. This is odd...my MSI board with almost identical components are stable and I heard DFI Lanparty UT NF4 board is a better OC mobo. What else should I change?
20% OC settings:
FSB Bus Frequency: 240
LDT/FSB...
I have a AMD dual core 3800+, DFI Lanparty UT NF4 and Zalman 9700 heatsink combo.
My current BIOS readings are :
FSB Bus Frequency: 200
LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio: Auto
LDT/Bus Transfer Width: 16 16
CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio: Auto
PCI EXpress Frequency: 100 Mhz
K8 Cool n Quiet: Disable...
I understand that AMD64 4000+ is also running at 2.4 Ghz although with 1 mg cache.
So if we can OC an AMD X2 3800+ to 2.4 Ghz or higher, does it mean we are getting the performance of a AMD64 4000+ (without OC)?
The optimal amount of memory used to be 1 Gb...
Now that we have the dual core X2 and assuming you will be running lots of apps concurrently, does it mean that going beyond 1 Gb will be better?
Let's just say you run about 6 to 7 office apps at the same time?
Of course I hope that the zalman heatsink and cooler was seated wrongly but chances are low because it was installed by the shop I purchased from, which installed system frequently.
I won't want to try re-installing it myself.
I was hope that it is because the AS5 is still not burnt in...
OCed the AMD X2 3800+ to 2.4 Ghz and the chip already hit 55C just for converting audio CD in itune. At idle, it is about 42 C.
Hence I am thinking of just doing a 10% OC to 2.2 Ghz to try out.
These are the values for a 20% OC.
Can someone give me the values for a 10% OC?
Between a single core and a dual core CPU, it only down to affordability now.
As for which dual core, the best choice is still AMD X2 3800 + because of its low price and its overclockability.
Once overclocked, you almost get the performance of a Intel P4 4Ghz + dual core (for the intel...
