Keep the Z68 or get a Z77 board?

Actually the board was one of their Warehouse Deals, repackaged. Had the Z77 manual and driver disk, but it had the older Z68 board inside. I have already RMA'd it back. First time I have had to ever return something to Amazon. So now I have everything in place and working, I'll stick with the...

Keep the Z68 or get a Z77 board?

This is just a quick question. I just upgraded my sandy bridge I-3 2120 to a I5-3570 ivy with 16gb of Corsair Vengeance 1600 DDR3. I also ordered a Gigabyte Z77 but was shipped wrong board from Amazon, they sent a Z68 board. So I just changed the CPU and memory on my existing board Intel DZ68DB...

5770 Vantage Scores

Nice scores , My AMD 955 at stock and XFX 5770 is at 16775 in 06. Haven't tried to OC yet as my case don't have the best airflow and worried about heat.

Please critique ~$450 budget build

I was going to suggest the 785G too, but poster before beat me to it. Like all others said, go with a better power supply, save the headaches.

Even Sherlock Holmes Can't Solve This

Have you reset BIOS by jumper or pulling the CMOS battery? That way it goes back to default vanilla settings. Like other people have already said, go back to basic hardware setup IE one stick ram, motherboard, video, and keyboard. If it POST then turn off, plug hard drive and go from there.

Sapphire a good brand?

To OP, Newegg has the Sapphire with a 600w Thermotake PS for 289.98, so basically get a free power supply with purchase. Not sure of the quality of the PS though. Plus you save a penny off the 299.99. Think Sapphire is a decent brand, ok reviews.

What do you do with your old video cards?

Same as above, I let my family have them. When I went to the 5770 my brother got the 8800 GTS.

Crossfire 4870x2 problem...

Maybe pull the other card in the 4x PCIe slot, sometimes with the other 4x PCIe slot occupied it hurts the bandwidth one the main 16x PCIe slot. Even if you don't have xfire on.

Which card?

Also, need to check power supply. The 260 needs 2 6pin and the 5770 only needs one 6pin, the 260 runs hotter.. Benchmarks show the 260 ahead of the 5770, I have had both, not at same time so I can't say if the 5770 is wider or not. I know I had to remove extra HD cage in my mid tower case to fit...

5870/5850/5770/5750 stocking status

How many 5850's and 5870's have went to vendors like Dell, HP etc. for their Windows 7 builds? Could that be where the lion's share of the cards are going to fulfill the OEM orders, and what is left over goes to retailers? I haven't seen any actual percentages of how AMD is dividing up cards.

Budget AMD Board

I am using the Foxcomm board that was originally posted. Running Phenom II 955BE. Had to upgrade bios, using as a stop gap until I get cash for a Xfire motherboard and some DDR3. I probably should of just saved for the new setup, but this works okay.

5870/5850/5770/5750 stocking status

Wow, Mwave pretty much +$100 from the $259 5850-379 5870 starting MSRP, probably won't be back down for awhile now. Really wanted a 5850. Price, performance is pretty moot point at current prices.

Crossfire a 5770 and 5850?

Just wondering if it is possible, and also what would be the drawbacks? Would it pointless, which I am thinking it may be. Currently have a xfx 5770, when I come into a little more extra money and when the 5850 is in stock and price maybe comes down. I do plan on a 5770 cf setup early next year...

Well put, just keep an eye on Newegg and other vendors, they pop up from time to time. They get bought out quickly.
