[Retired] The LCD Thread

I just built a new computer and I'm looking for a new monitor. I'll be using it mostly for games, browsing the web and typing schoolwork, with the possible movie once in awhile. Depending on the inputs, I may use it with a wii or xbox360 as well, but that's not critical. I don't think...

Need component advice on new build

I fell behind with the glut of new C2D and their performance relative to other processors. I found the 5000 through newegg, looked at it's review on Toms and compared it to the e6420 and e6320 prices ($190 and 200 on newegg right now). I haven't overclocked before and the seemingly effortless...

I'm building a completely new computer (minus monitor) on a budget of approximately $1000. I plan to use it for mostly gaming, as well as watching movies sometimes, and classwork and web surfing. I'd like to be able to play most new games on medium to high settings, such as SC2 and spore...
