it may not have mattered what kind of bike - yes, most bikes can stop in a shorter distance than most cars. But the cab driver KNEW he was going to hit the brakes, then maybe .7 - 1.5 seconds reaction time before the guy following grabbed the brakes.

Yes, I made some assumptions - that it was the person (rather than person AND bike) thrown into the oncoming traffic, that he was probably lying in the road (rather than sitting or standing), that the car ran over him (rather than a simple impact), and that he probably sustained other...

I see the newspaper didn't miss the opportunity to interject the irrelevant fact that he wasn't wearing a helmet. If you're thrown into the oncoming lane and run over by a car, you're screwed, helmet or no helmet.

For those people who hate hiphop/rap or are new to it

The track is not typical Tupac - wistfull lyrics (I could even understand most of them), over some nice acoustic guitar. Tasty .... more emphasis on melody than percussive beats and ego-centric posturing. I try to remember how my parents (and many others) dismissed The Beatles, Rolling Stones...

I really don't like most of the rap/hip-hop I've been exposed to, BUT ...... I did like the acoustic version of Tupac's "Thugz Mansion" also, a lot of Gil Scott Heron's music from the early-mid '70's was like a forerunner to rap - interesting, socially/politically conscious lyrics - too bad...

How are the ribs at the Old Country Buffet?

I've been to one nearby 2 or 3 times - the food is the worst buffet-style (which itself is fairly low on the appeal factor) fare. And their commercials suck too. got a Jack-in-the-Box nearby? Go around back to the dumpster - your odds of a good meal are better there.

yep, I've been there .......... the truth is, you probably WILL find someone someday. It's just that today may not be that day. Human nature is that we want WHAT we want, WHEN we want it, and anything less can dissolve us into self pity. I spent a lot of time alone, and some in relationships...
