xp pro 32 or 64?

New computer build needs new os. Definately decided on xp pro, again. I have 2X2gb ram, would like to be able to use all of it. Could you please help me understand what it will take to go from 32 to 64bit. Will all my files be ok? Is there possibly a site or something that I can look up...

IP35 board and RAM placement

To troubleshoot a problem, I was advised from various inputs on this forum to remove my two 2GB sticks and just use one, in slot #4. For no other reason other than wear and tear, and reaching in thru everything, I was wondering if I should move back to 1&4, or can I leave the one stick in #4...

Thank you for the response. Whenever I installed only windows xp pro sp1, I was able to then install intel's INF drivers followed by Realtek's drivers and finally the Marvell drivers. The matrox drivers and Viewsonic drivers can also be installed. I did use the latest drivers from each of...

Once I get the current IP35 build working, I am thinking of upgrading another computer I have. The price of the processor has come down $5.00 and the memory $10.00 since a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the usual sources for cheap prices, even some with rebate, for the IP35-e and IP35 boards...

Looks like my new build needs a new video card

New build is abit ip35,e2180,gskill2x2GB ddr2-800,earthwatts 500,etc. I cannot seem to get the lan port going using my old Matrox millenium g450. Another forum member has been a great help, but it looks like the old card is not compatable with the way today's boards/OSs handle the IRQs...

No lan adapter in device manager

JackMDS, I went into device manager and uninstalled the 4 items with the yellow exclamation marks, closed out and restarted. Went back to device manager and there they were back again, and still no lan adapter. Intel chipset driver says it is recommended to install before other drivers...
