I originally posted this as a comment to Anand's latest review on Intel's dual core stuff, then realized it really should go here, at least I think this is the right forum. Anyhoo, here it is... Well, I'm not a tech whiz like everyone else here, but here's my 2 centavos... I can attest...

What is the Highest Temperature Possible?

I still don't have a solid answer to the question. Some people are saying there is no limit, some are talking about photon temperature, some are saying there is definitely a limit. Surely we can't exceed the temperature of the big bang can we?

well, speaking of diamonds, what if you had a solid diamond blade that was heated to like 10000 F. See, you hook it up to this AC adapter from Dell, that should get it hot enough. Of course, you're going to need some mean shielding to protect yourself from the heat, but I'm thinking this baby...

I know there is absolute zero for the coldest temperature. What physical laws govern the upper limits of temperature? Or is there a limit at all? The fate of the moon might depend on an accurate answer so I need info fast!
