Thanks Painman,
I am correct to say that MBM:
1) CPU (MAX ?)
2) MWN area (max 55C)
3) chipset temp (what is max temp for this?)
Tempo sensing on Siandra 2005 says:
1) Board temp
2) CPU1
3) CPU2
Confusing still..
Hello,
Does anyone knows the meaning of:
BIOS Health Setup:
1) CPU Core Temp
2) PWN AREA <------- ??
3) Chipset Temp
How they they compare with MBM 1,2 and 3 (which is which?).
Where is the 2nd CPU temp displayed. MBM 1 = case, and equates to teh same temperature AMD...
My X2 4400 ran fine with Cool&Quiet enabled. Replacing it with Opteron 170 made it fail as the DFI BIOS doesn't support Opteron's (PSS power states) properly.
Per AMD a BIOS fix should fix it.
Was told by AMD that the 939 Opteron's support Cool and Quiet (=Power Now), but that it may requre BIOS updates as the PSS are fewer (2 only) than compared to the Athlon 64 line.
I have written to DFI to check if they are aware of it.
Wrote an email to DFI:
Hello DFI,
Using latest published BIOS on a DFI Ultra-D motherboard discovered that the Cool & Quiet is not functioning with my new Opteron 170 939 dual core processor.
I replaced the CPU from an Athlon 64 X2 4400+ with an Opteron 170 CPU, resulting in:
1) Cool...
Replaced 4400 with Opteron 170.
Cool & Quiet not working.
Do I need to install Power Now?
Thanks
ps: 1st boot at 2600Mhz (10x260) @ 1.392V was a success!
I am succesfully using Cool & Quiet with an ASUS K8N-E 3200+ OC to 2400Mhz.
Still I can make it work with a X2 4400+ and DFI Ultra-D.
When ever I download and install "amdcpu.exe" (AMD Athlon? 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.2.2.2) ...
Have the Fan hooked up to the CPU connector. When the fan is setup to max, it runs only at 1100 RPM. When I lower the rmp speed dail, it stops all together.
Wondering if the CPU FAN connctor adjust RPM automatically based on temp. With XP-90 iidle temp is 51 degrees Celcius.
If I hook up...
Anyone got it working..
What are the steps to get it to work?
I used some info from OC , and found out that the latest AMD processor drivers don't work with the X2. Also the dashboard fails!
Help please..
ps: cpu voltage on 4400 is listed at 1.264\. OC to 2400 required cpu volt to...
