Ok, I decided that I can't really afford a quality 24" monitor right now. So I'm looking at 22" models.
I'm planning to buy from Dell since I like their warranty and I at least get a 7% discount through my employer. I can't seem to find any coupons that work for monitors :(
So, between the...
I'm building a PC for my wife now and need another monitor for it. I'm using it as an excuse to get a new one for myself and give her my Dell 2005FPW. :) I'm trying to find a 24" monitor that will be good for both gaming and work (software development). I've been reading through this thread...
I've been running Win7 x64 RC for about 6 weeks now. Everything has been pretty good except that I've had a problem with apps line media player, winamp and foobar 2000 having a sorty of static-like stuttering sound during audio playback whenever I do anything else at the same time that requires...
Cool, thanks! I'll check the power bricks when I get home. I may end up just waiting and getting what I need when I get there. I think my wife's brother (engineer over there) should be able to help me track down something that will work for me. At least now I'll have some idea of what to...
I'm going to be spending a few weeks in China next month. I've got several devices that I'm planning to take with me that require regular re-charging though. I've got a charger for my pocket camera, ipod charger, rechargeable battery station (mostly for my other camera), and nintendo DSi...
Yeah, it works ok out of the box, but some of the software for the audio features isn't there. Asus just posted new drivers for Win 7 today though. Installed the audio package and it works fine.
Trying to figure out what drivers to get for the P6T. The disc that came with it just says that it doesn't support Win7. I figured the drivers on it probably aren't the most recent anyway, so I might as well find the right ones.
I've got the system up and running with the Win7 x64 RC...
Nevermind. Got my issue of Maximum PC today and it had pretty much all the info I needed. Apparently the 920s aren't locked like I had heard, and you can set your RAM to whatever speed you want without having to adjust the bclock. They did run into some problems running 12GB in some boards...
Was reading some reviews of RAM over at Newegg while trying to decide what to get for my new build. I'm planning to run 12GB on an Asus P6T Deluxe v2 board. I read that it probably won't work to try to run it at 1333 with 12GB. Or so said Corsair support apparently. So, I'm wondering if...
Wow. After shopping around for a while, I've discovered that it's pretty hard to find a decent HD enclosure from a reputable site. I looked for the Icy Dock MB664-US-1SB and the Welland ME740J that Dark Cupcake linked to above. They're either out of stock everywhere, or are listed on sites...
I've been looking for non-ECC 4GBx3 kits for a Core i7 build, but they don't seem to exist. The machine will be used as a dev box running multiple VMs. This type of dev situation is becoming more and more common, but it seems tough to build a reasonably priced box to meet the requirements...
I definitely need eSATA for files this big. I'll take a look at that Welland enclosure. At first glance it looks like it has the features I need. Thanks!
I need to find a good external enclosure for a backup drive. I'm going to use it with a WD Caviar Green 1TB drive, so I can probably get away with passive cooling if it's an all aluminum enclosure that makes good contact with the drive. I'll be transferring at least a few pretty large (20 to...
