Wyatt here, Any fix is gonna have to include counter measures to whatever Direct TV did. Otherwise, they are just gonna repeat that counter measure again. In the meantime many of the older smart cards have now been permanently hosed (they wrote to EEPROM 8000h-8003h which can not be repaired...
