can we replace dell,sony,hp notebook internals like barebones?

hello, Can we upgrade notebook parts of notebooks that were bought from dell, hp, ibm, sony, etc like barebones notebooks. I mean literally replacing motherboard,cpu,video card and only retaining the chasis, lcd and hard disk? Would it fit the existing notebooks Some people say it's...

Upgrading from banias 1.4 to dothan 2.0

Reviews says that the dothan cores has lower power consumptions and better performance when compared to the same ghz. You gonna upgrade? run a benchmark before and after then post em here

I don't know if it requires a lot of cpu power but I do some web design and coding and use office applications like word,excel,outlook I was just thinking about buying a dothan core because sooner or later it won't be sold anymore because current notebooks are using sonoma cores and within...

overvolting a powercolor radeon 9800se

I've already overclocked the core and mem from 380/300 to 424/329. But I've read that you should also adjust the agp voltage of the VC to complement the overclocking of the core and mem.I know how to overvolt the agp card from the bios but what I'm scared of is how to know or when to stop before...

Upgrading from banias 1.4 to dothan 2.0

Hello guys, I need some advice I'm thinking of upgrading my dell latitude d600 processor of banias 1.4 to dothan 2.0. The price is $310 at newegg. Is it worth the upgrade? Will the performance increase be worth it? Or should I just sell and buy another notebook with a turion or a yonah core...
