Thanks for that detailed info ShintaiDK.
@crashtech Actually the H87 board available here in my city is H87 pro and not many choices. If I spend 20 dollars more I can get the Z87 - A (also Z87 is good I guess ?) and 30 dollars for the Gryphon. So I thought of getting the Z87

I see , Sorry if its a noob question : So you mean to say that the motherboard 8 phase vrm will not be used since its already worked on CPU? My concern of power consumption is mainly because of the resulting temperatures ( since its already damn hot in India:oops: ). Still awaiting suggestions...
It will be around 25 dollars (converted from Rupees) more for the Haswell compared to Ivy. however my main concern is the heat and power consumption. Is it true that they are high compared to Ivy ? Please advise.
Also Iam planning to upgrade the graphics card in another 2 months.

Hi,
Iam planning to upgrade my Motherboard and CPU ( currently I have core i5 760 and p55-us3l Motherboard ). Initially I was planning to upgrade to haswell i5 - 4670 3.4 ghz, but afraid to do so now since from what I found in the web it has higher power consumption and heat generation than...
Ya but will that writes have much higher frequency than read ? in this case it is like 7-11mb write and 1mb to 2mb read for returning 10 lakh records from select query. Just wanted to confirm on that. But i do have a doubt as nothinman said may be some other process is going on. Iam still stuck...
Hi, it is just a select * from single query and the table has around 10 lakh records. They are retrieved pretty fast but iam concerned about the write spikes going on SSD.
Hi , ya i tried it like 5 times in the task manager in windows 8 which shows the graph and read/write speed at the...
Hey guys,
Querying a sql database from management studio is a read or write operation ? am asking this because my SSD shows as write frequency higher than read frequency in task manager while querying a database whic i have installed for home use. Can anyone confirm what it really does while...
Yes. As of now the main purpose everyone buys SSD is to load OS and other programs which will speed up their loading. You can have a read of them in the following link explained much better about installting and optimizing OS on ssd...
Many external harddisks go into sleep mode even if the above option is selected. And i think the default timing for that is around 10 mins.
@Whitestar127 you can try something like below software for your existing harddisk
NoSleepHD v2.0
NoSleepHD is a simple program which writes an...
Got an update regarding the firmware
840 series and 840 pro get updated to versions DXT07B0Q and DXM04B0Q
It improves the “dirty drive” write performance
Dirty drive is like a fragmented disk drive. When a user writes then deletes data on to the drive, parts of that data are...
Good to hear:biggrin:. Then i guess i have to try my odds here :). Was just curious to know whats the update about. I saw other thread here that the recent one for 840 pro was to improve dirty drive write performance which obviously is useful for laptops in low power mode and doesn't benefit...
Thanks for the update Drsignguy. I will go ahead and update it. Also can you please let me know whether you updated it using the magician and the drive had OS installed on it ? I heard that updating from the magician fails mostly and shows error while updating. Is there a possibility of...
As far as i saw on the internet only OCZ drives are updated without causing any damage to the data on the drive using the OCZ tool it seems. Hence iam not sure regarding the samsung one. And also as you say 830 can be updated but not sure about the 840 since it uses different controller...
