Best Media Player??

Will Winamp find all my cd cdrw drives? creatives Playcenter doesnt pick up audio cd's in my Plextor drive, but MS MP does. I've looked in the control panel and thought I had all the right buttons pushed but no go. Steve H

How to undo failed VIA AC97 driver install?

I made the mistake of using live update with MSI k7t pro2-1 new 2.8 bios and started installing driver for via ac-97 audio. Win ME couldn't find files needed but the disaster proceeded. Now I can't use cdrw, dvd, or printer. How can I undo the damamge? I tried rerunning the setup.exe but it...

Game crashes because of the DVD/CD-ROM Player ???

After searching / downloading and making mobo tweaks I gave up fixing my game crashes. Then I tried reinstalling and running Deus Ex from my Plextor CD burner rather than use the Pioneer 16x dvd / cdrom and .... my game works! All the mobo changes and patches were removed. I got the idea...

Pioneer 16X DVD Playback Stutters on Video

I think I am using hardware decoding as I have the ATI Radeon 64DDR. But I never saw anything as I was installing all my gear. What tells me how I am decoding? I will check the audiohq.

Pioneer 16X DVD Playback Stutters on Video

It is enabled now and the DVD played well, but the sound was a little low. Is there somewhere that has a FAQ on DVD/Sound cards/CDROM/CDRW ? Thank you for the help. Steve :D

Pioneer 16X DVD Playback Stutters on Video

I just put my new system together and fired up the Matrix DVD. Looks nice but the video stutters. My system is listed in my signature. Any suggestions? Also everyone raves about DVD on the computer but is this in full screen or the small box that fires up? Thank you, Steve :confused:

cpu boxed or plain

I am confused as to the box designation on cpu's. This appears to mean that heatsink and fan are included, right? What about overclocking, will the fan be good enough? I am thinking of an AMD Tbird @ 900 to 1000 mhz. This is my first home built system. Thanks Steve H

Monitor testing

I bought the Micron 900MX which is a Trinitron 19" monitor as it was cheaper than a Viewsonic PF790 or a KDS AV-195. The picture looks good to me but I have seen that trinitron tubes have geometry and color problems. Is there somewhere i can learn what to look for to see these problems...
