Is a Power State Other Than 0 and 1 Possible?

I thought the disconnected state was just high-z in binary. The trinary I remember hearing about had high, low and negative (1,0,-1). Not sure if its actually used or not. Just remembered hearing about in class when someone asked the obligatory digital with more than 1s and 0s question.

batch scripting

I'm doing a batch script to clean some stuff out of the registry. I need to search in a certain key for a subkey with certain values in it. Its for symantec 9. Ex: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\ has several product keys in it. I need to find one with a value referencing AntiVirus...

dual core vs. single core- Pls stickie

hmmmm. mebbe I'll just go w/ a single dual core opteron and add another later than... =D i like the idea of dedicated memory for each core, but I guess that if pc3200 can feed the beast, its good enough. I always forget about I/O. theres no way I'm dropping cash for SCSI...

dual core vs. single core- Pls stickie

how does true MP match up against dual-core? I'm leaning towards opteron right now, start out w/ a pair of single cores, switch out to dualies later. I would imagine it would be faster w/ each CPU having its own dedicated memory channel, no?

Audigy 2 zs with car audio

you've tried the sonys inside though? the sound quality is going to be crap regardless, but they get a ton louder than in the car. i ran one in my house for a little while off 100w, it tore up my 150W 8" home sub. i know xplod is all crud anyways, i was forced to install it for a good year...

Have you ever heard them side by side? Cabin gain in a car is nothing, you bring any sort of car sub inside and it destroys all else. Most home drivers are smaller (8" and 10"), you don't see many 18"s for this reason. I wouldn't bother with the car audio. Sell the stuff and dig around for a...

System timing is all off

The system runs perfectly fine for the most part. But for example, if I play a 3 minute long song, its audibly stretched out, and takes close to 6mins. Using a DOS wait command takes twice as long as well. But the system runs fine besides that, and has very few errors. This is the wierdest thing...

I believe gentoo's AMD64 fork is rather stable at this point, but I couldn't say for sure.

Getting a 3.06 gHz P4: Do I have to format my HD if I just swap out the cpu?

plain CPU (both w/ HT): plug and play, cpu is near transparent to the OS in this regard CPU + mobo (both w/ HT): if you go about it carefully, you'll just have to reinstall some mobo drivers CPU (w/ or w/o mobo, origional w/o HT): as said above, I believe the kernel is built around 2 cpus...

New Work Laptop...

Close, but not exactly. The Centrino package also includes the chipset (855 I think?). And the P-M isn't ground up much at all, its a hybrid PIII/P4, I'm pretty sure it has the PIIIs pipeline, but thats all I can recall off the top of my head. You were correct on the rest tho :D

Volari Duo CHEATING!!!!

I really don't see nvidia as having 'cheated' per say, an optimization is different from something like this. Futuremark didn't lose any quality, correct? This is just rediculous tho, LOL DISCLAIMER: I'm no fanboy, I just buy w/e is fastest. I have AMD and Intel systems, ATI and nVidia systems.
