Need some help

i believe raid is a functionn ment for 2 drives or more i dont think it will work with only 1,in effect you would be either merroring the drive to it self or swapping files to it self here's a link to a guy who's the serious raid guru http://www.lvcoyote.com/

did you run the installation cd that came with the mobo? if no do so,also can you boot to safe mode with cd rom support? in bios did you hit the auto detect hdd's?(i think f4) if you can boot onto safemode with cd support your almost home free i think you need to reinstall all the...

New pc problems

when you install a new mobo you need to either reinstall windows or if your lucky do a repair. i doubt all if any of your old system drivers/controllers are compatible . were you able to install all the drivers and software from the mobo installation disk? you need to go to the tech support...

Computer freezes during memtest86

that ram may not be compatible with that board. heres a link to the abit compatibity chart http://www.abit.com.tw/test_report/KV8_Pro/index.php,i'm not sure if this your exact board but it's a start at least, hope your choppers dont hurt too much also here's a linkto the kv8 max set up...

check to see if the ram is properly seated and is supported on the mobo,also a quick shut down could mean that the cpu/heat sink is mounted incorrectly. are you getting and beep codes on startup?

when you start in safe mode only the very basics get power (unless you select cdrom support) try starting in safe mode and run dxdiagnostics,you might have lost the drivers for your agp (look in system imformation- tools directx diagnostics ),run all the tests,also since it will post in safe...

What would I need in order to....

if you gfx card supports vivo(video in /video out) you should have all that you need(i think) if you dont have the capture software youll need that check out google,and i know pinnacle makes the divse and soft ware to do it .it's time for you to do some research

What happened to my hard drive?

when the machine starts to boot tap f8 for options ,choose start in safe mode,then run the diagnostics,if i remember correctly you'll be asked to restart again, you may need to type c:\ run scandisk/all (better google; it's been a long time since i did it and i dont want to steer you wrong)
