Suggestions for BD7II memory...

Mine is running on Sumsung DDR 333 CL2.5 very smoothly, never a hick-up. Now at 150MHz cpu FSB with 3:4 ratio means I'm running my Sumsung at full 200MHz and generally gives a feeling faster than 166 MHz FSB with 1:1 ratio. This is for general uses not playing games. Most threads here also...

anyone using the bd7-II raid?

If you have a look at BG7 thread here in AT you will incline toward the BG. I am using BD7II not the RAID one, I must admit this board overclocks real solid and with no hesistation I would go for this one. But be awared that the BD7 is BIOS sensitive, always compare performance and stability...

K7S5A Help..

Buz 2b has already covered all what might be the case, he's a real 'guru' here. Another thing I 'd like to add is; if you haven't already done so, getting a relatively good 'box' for your setup. What I normally go for is something in an upper price range, especially if you move your 'box' often...

Understandable!! why you're so furious. My BD7II is cool and sailing, 1.6A @ 168 MHzclock 1:1 CPU/RAM, or at another setting 150/200 MHz at 3:4 cpu/ram (with Samsung DDR333 and 2.6v). Both settings have been thru 3Dmark with Prime 95 running in the background. Just hope you like it, at the...

Rebuilding old PC

Gretzky, It's great of you trying to continue using old PCs because disposing them already is problem. You haven't given us details of the Compaq, model, CPU speed,etc. I suggest you try Compaq website if BIOS upgrade or Specifications are available, these will help decide how to go from there...

ASUS P3B-F & 200WATT POWERSUPPLY?

sorry for the last post! I would try using the 200 watts PWS , if it turns out not very smooth I 'll get rid of the ZIP drive, again if it does't improve I will definitely replace the old 6 gig HDD with a decent one plater 20 gig 5400 rpm HDD which consume less power if there is one around.

:cool: I was informed by info in ABIT website or somewhere that the BH6 version 1.03 will only be able to supply power to the CPU enough for coppermine 700 MHz after BIOS upgrade. I am now running a 66MHz bus celeron 700 @ 100MHz bus or 10.5x100=1050 MHz and it is rock solid with a PIII intel...

Running ABIT BD7II at 166Mhz RAM ? (DRAM H/W Strap)

Sorry again, I may confuse people, 168 MHz is the FSB so the DDR ram is at 2x168=336 MHz, and the same 200 MHz is the FSB which means the DDR ram is at 400MHz. Be carefull next time.
