I have the cheapest 512x2 kingmax 400 ddr operating at 176.12 at 1t with the most current official bios. If i lower timings to 2t I can run memory at 220(ish?). Computer is noticable faster at 1t and the lower mem clock speed. ESPECIALLY for divx rendering, differnce is like 20%! I think...
Either the mini pci HARDWARE isn't working and never worked or they fixed the drivers to work with your router after you bought your computer. Up untill the last year I have always had to find the LATEST drivers from the card manufacturers website to get any of them to ever work. The included...
Sorry if this isn't at all what you wanted but anad's did a good article on different memory types when they did their fx60 review I believe. The Expensive OC memory will just give you a very small unoticable and in my opinion not worth it increase. Versus non specially picked memory at the...
I always smooth a almost microscopic (well not really) layer over the cpu with a plastic toothpick as it rests in the socket. Isn't that the right way. Too much grease is always worse heat transfer wise than direct contact with the heatsync.
Yeah I don't know how you can be getting it stuck? Is the CPU lever malfunctioning? Is there any movement like forward when you raise the lever? Is it actually not letting go of the pins or have you totally gummed it up sooo bad it seeped into the socket? You are probably going to have to...
I think the higher cost of DDR2 and higher latency will make 939's a good choice for a long time. I have a feeling there is not going to be a performance increase, especially not if your an overclocker. I guess we'll see.
3/4 of a tube that's hilarious. I giggle every time I read it! I spend a half hour spreading arctic silver with a plastic toothpick on an oh so thin layer. Why didn't I just dump the whole bottle on the CPU and be done with. The thermal grease is not as good a conductor as your heatsink it...
I beg to differ, any windows non gaming program that uses openGL acceleration in windows causes these problems. The older 8x drivers would not even install without giving random BSOD. Call of Duty was very buggy as well. When they get the PSPx fixed then it's fixed. I am not reinstalling...
NVIDIA drivers have random BSOD probelms with dual core systems due to 'optimizations' with certain programs with the 8x.xx series. Only runs correctly if you run the 78.01's. Wish I knew about this problem before I got my opty165 dual core. Has been going on since sept no beta fixes all the...
Download the PSP X trial install it. It won't install right. You have a problem you just don't know it yet. People post they have no problem in that NVIDIA forum then the next day they post "Oh crap it is BSOD on me too now". Corel says rightly so that is an NVIDIA prob. When they fix that...
Don't get a dual core at ALL if you plan on using NVIDIA. Their newer 8x.xx series doesn't work correctly with dual core systems something no review has mentioned. You must use the 78.01 drivers if you don't want blue screens of fun. Yes this is with the newest drivers WHQL cert and with all...
You know YOU ARE RIGHT!!! I got 2520 on my opteron 165. 9 Mult x 280 at 1.4 vcore. I wasn't paying attention and I was positive I had tried it with a lower memory timing 133 but I guess I didn't. I just had to lower my PC400 memory to 133 which with my overclock actually runs it at 180, I...
Yeah it is using a mem divider memory is operating at 214.36mhz Memory Bus 2.5-4-4-8 2T. If I use the mem divider to lower the memory down to 100mhz it doesn't help my overclocking at all, not even 1mhz. I guess I might get a newer MB as I don't want to really fool around with my processor...
Yeah I realize that but all I hear is people getting at least 2.4 and I am jealous, I was kinda expecting 2.4 minimum so if I got that I would be happy.... I have a ASRock 939 dual sata-2 the max voltage is 1.4 for this board. I know there is an easy to do volt mod for the X2 but I just don't...
I was happy/lucky? to get a 165 on the 5th of Dec. I also bought a ASRock 939 dual sata-2 that I loaded up with the OCWForum OC Bios. I am not as happy now. It only overclocks to 2.36 2 Prime95s with affinity to each processor. I also run winamp with a full screen visulization to really get...
