Game smoothness with single GPU

Try this: First keep V-sync ON. Download Fraps, run it with the game, then while playing press F9. See if that makes the microstutter go away.

I'm sure 45 fps with G-sync will look slightly smoother than 45fps with V-sync, but to claim it will look like 60 is [false]. There's no way a human eye couldn't tell the difference between 45fps and 60fps. Same as I can easily tell the difference between a 75 hz monitor and a 60 hz monitor...

I've noticed something funny in that video. That part at 2:03 where they compare Vsync to Gsync is fake. The G-sync video on the right is actually playing at 60fps. I used Vegas Movie Studio and did a side by side comparison between a supposed 45fps Gsync part and a 45fps non-Gsync tearing part...

The input lag can't be more than 16.7 ms on a 60hz monitor, how can anyone be susceptible to 16.7 ms?

Being militarily accurate doesn't make a game fun, in fact it makes it slower and more boring. And Arma is essentially Battlefield with: bugs, performance and graphical issues, unfriendly UI, horrible controls, and hilariously awful voice acting. Hell, even the campaigns are basically the same...

R9 290 Squealing noises

I have the same problem with my Nvidia card. When V-sync is off and framerate gets really high (above 200) the card will start to make an annoying squealing noise. I've had it for 2 years and it's still working, so I'm proof that this isn't a sign of a bad card. RMA probably won't make a...

Vsync causing jitter?

My average framerate in Company of Heroes is about 180 to 200. And that's with everything on ultra, and with 2 generation old hardware. And sometimes in a few huge battles it drops to 20. People play many games other than the latest Battlefield or Crysis.

Maybe instead of putting all this money into G-sync they could try to fix V-sync and not have their customers constantly scouring the Internet for fixes.

From what I heard it doesn't eliminate the need for Vsync except in some cases, so in essence it's no different than Adaptive Vsync.
