DFI Bloodiron + E8400

Thanks for the tip man, it very well could be that. searching fourums I found http://forum.uabit.com/newrepl...ply&noquote=1&p=920343 the voltage and temps are much different than I think they shuld be.. (1.28volts is showing for Core1 and 1.15volts showing for core2 with temps of 64-70c) but...

DFI Bloodiron + E8400

Hi all, Building a system for a friend here DFI Bloodiron MB (had to flash to newest bios to support chip) Intel Core 2 E8400 (45nm) (Arctic 7 cooler) G.SKILL DDR2 800 (5-5-5-15) In the Bios I adjusted core volts by +100mV (adding .1volt to the default 1.2volts) OK. My issue here is...

IP35-E or DFI Blood Iron for 500MHz & Wolfdale??

My vote is for the DFI Blood Iron, I've built two with this board so far and it is rock solid. Don't waste your money on anything else unless you need SLI. $115 is cheap at Newegg for a high performance MB

IP35-E vs DFI Blood Iron

Best case in town? Antec 900?

I've built a case with an antec 900 just cause it looked damn cool. And it seemed to be a fine case.. but a little expensive for my taste. Personally I've fallen in love with the RAIDMAX SMILODON cause its PRICE/SIZE/EASY TO INSTALL STUFF!!!! of the tens of high class custom builds I've done...

wow, that cooler looks like a blast. I think I can sacrifice 200mhz-300mhz for the added trouble and weight of a water cooler, but defiantly something I'd like to get my hands on someday.

OVERCLOCKING Q6600

Well i am keeping it at 1.45volts 3.5ghz. Got it at 9x390 with my ram running at DDR975. All props go to the GEIL Estoria DDR800 Ram chips for running stable at DDR975 btw. It's running at 60c /w 4xPrime95

I also ran 3.6ghz for about an hour at 1.55volts DFI UT P35 T2R /w Core 2 Q6600

I dont agree. I've clocked others much farther than they've ment to go and had em run like champs. That said, right now i have it at 1.45v 3.5Ghz, hasnt dropped multi's. Would not run stable at 1.5v 3.6Ghz hav'nt tried 1.48 3.6ghz. Will do that if i get the 3.5 stable. Thanks

using 3 temp monitors. Vigor monsoons on device monitor, speedfan, and smartguardian. this is only been running at 1.6 for about an hour. i got it up to 3.15Ghz on stock volts

AMD X2 3800+ temps

I hav'nt read all the posts, but you should try re-seating the heatsink. I just mounted a new 165 opty and was getting load temps of 80C after overclocking it to 1.475 volts, WAY TO MUCH. so I applied a little more Arctic silver 5, re spread it, and reseated the heatsink. Now im getting load...

Worth selling a Opteron 165 setup and going to AM2?

I would sell it, buy the C2D 6600 in 2 weeks, overclock the crap out of it and buy a 8800GTS\GTX. Defanetly dont pass up the chance to sell your old hardware for that NICE OF A PRICE you won't be able to give that hardware away in 6 months P.S but if you dont sell it, and need someone...
