802.11g not a bottleneck?

I've heard people proclaim this and I've told other people this as well: "The bandwidth of your 802.11g wireless (54 MBits/sec?) is much larger than the bandwidth of your cable/DSL (3-5 Mbits/sec), so there should be no loss of internet download speed if you switch to wireless." However...

New NVIDIA drivers... What do Gridlines do?

So NVIDIA released new drivers today and one of the new features is the ability to section off your screen with Gridlines. My guess is that these function somehow similarly to gridlines in a paint program like Photoshop (snap to grid) but I can't figure out what they do.

Nicked my Thermal Grease square

Radeon 9700 Pro or Nvidia Ti4600

Isn't it worth it to go with the brand that has better drivers, if they are equal in speed? In fact, even if the ATI card IS slighty better, wouldn't you rather have a card that is compatible with current and future games, and won't crap out on you, than one that runs really really fast, but...

C1VPK Picturebook, Upgraded to XP, can't use Capture Button

Flash BIOS with WinXP

I ran into the same problem when trying to flash the BIOS on a VAIO laptop. I had made a bootdisk using ME, and copied the flashing program to it. But.. the Phoenix Phlash program that Sony wanted me to use didn't like the fact that io.sys or msdos.sys or whatever system files ME had copied to...

I can't run the OC tool for Chaintech GF4 TI4200... (TurboGFX)

Wow... good eyes WarCon! This is definitely an upgraded version of TurboGFX, but it still has the same problem. The file also seems to have come with a BIOS flashing utility for the GT21.. but it doesnt explain what it is or what it does. I guess I'd better try the other OC utilities before...

Warcon: Nope, I havent... I guess I'll look to those methods of OCing if I can't get this to work. Would I be out of line to ask someone if they could provide me with a copy of TurboGFX, maybe mine is corrupted?

Naw.. actually, there's a paper insert that came with the manual, which says I should go to the Chaintech site to download the new version of TurboGFX. Alas, I cannot find ANY version of TurboGFX at the chaintech site. All I see is Adapter drivers.

It quits within half a second of running it. Does this on a fresh install of XP as well. More info here. Open to any suggestions.. here
