Thanks for the info Peter the LSI 53C875 was in Win XP, still can't figure out that 2940uw though.
I have a 19160, but haven't tried that one yet. I also have a K7T Master-S that has an adaptec u160 on it, and it works without a hitch.

I put in and older diamond fireport entered the bios to enable the cdrom to be bootable, and it worked straight away. Only problem is that when I got into XP it wouldn't load a driver for it, so it doesn't work once I hit XP.

I hit crtl A to enter bios and changed it to boot from cdrom. When it starts up now I get this msg
"SCSI id:lun number #:# 0:0 - Toshiba cdrom xm6401ta

Thanks for the info, the scsi cdroms I have are newer versions, plextor 40x and a toshiba 40x I think.
The two cards I have available to me are the adaptec 2940uw, and an adaptec 19160 ultra 160.
Does the motherboard have to have an option to boot to scsi cdrom, or just for scsi?
I tried partition magic without any success. It won't let me change the FAT, or the primary to logical.
Does anyone have any other ideas, or do I have to reformat?

My computer just shut itself down sometime this evening. So when I went to try and restart it, it just rebooted itself as soon as windows was about to load.
I put in a boot disk and was able to see the files at the dos prompt, but was unable to copy...
