how hot is too hot?

That should be normal....My Viper 770 Ultra, gets pretty hot, I won't touch it because I would get burned. As for my Athlon 1.4...it runs at about 51-53°. So I think you should be ok. Have you noticed any strage behavior...things lock up, sound get lost, system reboots or shuts down by itself?

Three mobos in four days! ....

After going through hell in the past four days I'm finally up and running. It started with the Abit KT7A....would freeze and lock up so often that I wasn't even able to install some of the drivers. Unstable like Clinton on crack. Got the MSI K7T Raid Turbo....Everything was fine, except that...

Failing Components? Not Me!

I fried my 486-100DX once....and a floppy drive twice. One just two days ago but that wasn't my fault!! The manual for the MSI K7T turbo has a picture of a jumper for clearing and keeping CMOS reversed. SO, I had the jumper set to clear CMOS (I thought it was the otherway around) pressed power...

Athlon + which mobo ? for stability.

You're right don't let him near the Abit KT7A...I had my share of problems with that mother....oh yes. I have MSI K7T Turbo. No problems, it doesn't support DDR but it's stable and overall an excellent performer. I think the MSI K7T Master supports DDR.

Are optical mice by logitech supposed to leave their light on?

I would go with USB anyway. I have the Microshaft's Intelli exploder and it functions better or is more responsive when it's plugged in to a USB port. Why even bother with ps/2.....unless of course you reinstall windows, then you need that ps/2 port. Otherwise, just go with USB.

SU0013 win error and MSI K7T-R Turbo........now what.

I just setup the RAID array on my MSI K7T Turbo and when win starts installation i get an error SU0013 " setup cannot create files on your startup drive and cannot setup windows 98". Well, the saga continues......Anybody has any ideas why I cannot setup win on my system. I have two...

Can I use RAID controller as a normal IDE controller...?

I have MSI K7T-R mobo and i'd like to know if I can use the RAID controller as a normal controller. I have two hard drives CD-ROm and CD Burner and internal ZIP drive. I have tried to disable the onboard RAID controller so I could use the Promise 66 PCI controller for the ZIP drive but I don't...

Abit KT7A and Athlon 1.4 Problems Solved!!!

Yes.....i bought MSI K7T-R Turbo today, and send the bad mother (KT7A) back. Installed Win 98SE and voila!! Things actually work without any lock ups......amazing!

MSI K7T Turbo (Raid version) a simple question.

Just wanted to know if there was a way to disable the Promise Fast Track Raid controller on this mobo. At some point in time i am going to setup the raid array, but currently I don't have any need for it. Thanks

MSI K7T turbo......Well?!

Curious if anybody had any problems running Athlon 1.4 with this mobo. Had some major issues with Abit KT7A and decided to send it back. Local store here in Bakersfield (Yeah I know) has this board relatively cheap, plus AnandTech KT133A mobo round up gave this board a really nice review...
