Thanks for all your inputs. We are leaving in a week so I don't have time to buy anything online. I'll take a trip down to the local radioshack.
Once again, thanks for all your recommendations.
Me my wife and my daughter will be taking a trip to europe from Texas and since the plane ride will be quite long I thought we could watch some movies with my newly purchased Dell 1505 laptop. Since planes can be quite noisy I thought the three of us could use headsets for audio but with 3 of...
Well, I tried your suggestions and I did get some positive results. When I transfer files after a reboot and nobody logged on I get the speed I should (I am transferring a DVD ISO image 4.3GB). I get an average rate of 22MB/S with a max of 29MB/s. The weird thing is that this speed is only...
In the hwsupport.txt file on dd-wrt they list the Buffalo WBR-G54 has having untested support, no mention of the WHR-G54S. So does this unit have third party support? If it does it will be my next purchase. I was planning on purchasing the WRT54GL but seems to be more expensive and harder to...
Yes, the "server" is running Winxp Pro. I haven't tried transferring files while logged off but I'll give it a shot this evening.
I have tried setting the speed manually but no difference, I also tried different jumbo frames sizes including disabling them, no difference.
The speed issues...
I thought that might have been the problem also so I moved the card around to other PCI slots, I even swapped out the NIC card with another one, no difference.
To make matters even worse this only happens in one direction from client to server, the other way around works fine and it doesn't...

The movie has already been transfered to HD (film to HD transfer). It is on a short list of movies that have been planned for release on HD-DVD see link below.

Not sure when they will actually be available.
It has already been shown in HD a while back (I believe it was on PPV HD). Anyway, movies, tv shows and anything else that is shot using film can be transfered to HD. HDNET has shown old tv shows and movies in HD (Hogan's Heros comes to mind and I believe that was shot in the 60s) heck the...
Let's be honest here, most people that use these do so with the intention of getting "more" than just FTA. Here in the states there is hardly anything worth getting that is Free To Air. Europe, that is another story.
