Questions w/ replacing laptop HD to SSD

Recommendation wanted for Laptop PC Oscilloscope

The ones you listed above are too slow for use on the newer CAN systems. This one is fast enough PicoScope 5000 250 MHz bandwidth 1GS/s sample rate and is comparable in both price and specs with Fluke Scopemeter 190 series. I am familiar with the Fluke scopes, but not with the PicoScope...

Anyone know of a Digital Multi Meter that displays an infinity symbol for overflow?

Ouch, -1, OF, or OFL are commonly used, but does any DMM use the infinity symbol for overflow or out-of-range values? A bet is on the line here.

dvd burner on it's way out??

I don't know how long burners last, however, if it is still burning, perhaps something in your system is slowing it down: Is your HD full near capacity? Is your HD badly fragmented? Are too many apps running and hogging your RAM?

reformatted now the comp constantly crashes and wont install xp pr

It wouldn't hurt to go into the BIOS and load in the BIOS defaults, as perhaps a BIOS setting(s) is too aggressive. Record what they are first before you load the default settings, so you know where they were. If that doesn't fix it, then you should try to swap out each component one at a time...

Could be some bad RAM...try running with just one of your four RAM sticks, swapping them in/out one at a time and observe the results...
