Simple HD Capacity Question

LBA VS CHS Access Mode and HD install headaches

I am pretty sure the bios was doing the chs stuff, and windows wouldn't boot until I put it in LBA mode so it must have been expecting LBA. Whats interesting is after I got it formatted and installed by forcing LBA mode it stayed detected as LBA by the Bios in auto mode.

Help on Partitioning a 200GB HD

Okay. I went with 50 and 150 just cause I am replacing two drives and I dont want to reinstall my programs. The 150 is pretty much gonna ba games and junk stuff with the 50 being os and serious programs. Thanks for all your advice.

Here is the thing though. As a slave drive I could use all the harddrive even in CHS mode, I just couldn't use it as a boot drive.

I bought a 200gig Seagate HD. I installed it as slave as per seagate instructions, I ran seagate software, it copied everything over from my old C drive. Removed my old drive, setup the new seagate as only drive. No boot. I tried everything I could think of short of a clean install of xp...

Well.. how about then a 40gig for os/apps like office and money and 160 for games and crap... I dont know what I would use a 3rd partition for.

Are there any arguments for staying with one 200gig partition? In some ways that is appealing, though I do worry how a OS reinstall would work with that.

If your gonna think of replacing it anyway. Fill a bucket full of water, and just soak the keyboard in there for a while, use distilled water if you can. Then take it out shake it really really well to get all the water out, and let it dry for a day. Should work fine afterwards, if not you...

I was gonna take advantage of the Seagate deal at frys and pick up their 200GB drive to replace my 20gig and 13gig maxtors. Right now I have my 13 gig setup as the primary OS drive with programs and the 20 gig setup for games. I wasn't sure how to do the 200gig though. Since my 20 and 13...

MCSE - Who has one and what is it worth these days

MCSE for a while became the everybodies got one and it doesn't mean squat certificate. I was wondering who in todays economy has one? I also want to know if they are still good to have, if they help your employment prospects and if they gain you some more cash.

do landlords have the right to enter a house/place of living they are renting?

No written notice is not required in given circumstances. for example if you send me a work order and sign it, it specifically states on my work order that will will enter your unit to fix it during normal business hours without prior announcement. Also we can enter in an emergency.

Was thinking of getting a degree in information technology that focused on system administration and also added in the MCSE track. VS computer science which appears to be mainly programming. Are there still jobs to be found? Is it unwise to get anything other than a CS degree?
