Problem with file corruption

It could be your selection of Fonts as well. I've never seen an issue.

Intel files lawsuit against Nvidia

I think part of it may relate to NVIDIA continuing to cause problems by artificially coding their SLI drivers to check for a BIOS license before they work. In short, NVIDIA is trying to make everyone pay them money, even if they don't want to be an NVIDIA customer or want to use any product...

free ramdisk type program for winXP 32 bit?

Even if "Write Cache" is enabled ( Generally a Bad Idea for a General Purpose Computer in the 1st Place ), it will still be frequently flushing the cache to disk. RAM Disks are still perfect for use by some applications depending on how they are written.

Antivirus 2009/2010/2012

Actually, It's not very doable for anything but the smallest of companies without extremely heavy use of Virtualization, Citrix, and similar solutions. Even RedHat pulled out of the Corporate Desktop Market. Even Linux Companies do not espouse Linux as a Desktop Standard for Corporations...

Fresh Windows Install Applications

Definitely AV and SpyWare 1st. Even Big Sites like MS have been sort of hijacked with "Ads" that don't look like ads and then take you to a Malware site. Most of the Biggies have been mentioned.

freeware alternative to dameware?

VNC does not require the user to download anything. It requires a single install and can be setup to allow remote access w/o the users clicking anything. In fact its commonly used to connect to devices w/o anyone even there. And yes, VNC can be pused so a user does not need to do anything.

Did you check Event Viewer? If something is closing them, it might be logged there.............

Formatting in Corel WordPerfect is KILLING ME, please help

LOL!!!! 15 Years ago I could have rocked on this Question. I used W.P. for typesetting kind of work and could set line spacing to the 1/100th of an inch and fonts could size by 1/10th of a point. It was really sweet. But now? Oh Lord, I think I've dealt with one WP issue in the last...

Thanks for Trying to Enforce that. I left another to be nameless Tech Site after years and started posting here because they actually started publishing guides on how to hack software. Since I'm a software developer, I could not tolerate that.

File Compression - Need Help

If .7z is only taking it down to 5.6, you won't find anything to drop it to 4gb. Consider using the File Splitter Option so you can split the Zip across multiple DVDs.

Time to upgrade Q6600

I was able to find (2) reviwes of the P45 vs X48 for XFire and both used the 4850. The 1st review showed a minimal difference, but the CPU was less powerful and AA was not even turned on. The Tweaktown used a more powerful CPU and more aggressive Video Settings in its test. They found...
