Bootvis killed my USB mouse

Hercules Fortissimo II skipping

I just put in a Hercules Fortissimo II sound card today, and it's skipping when playing MP3s. When my computer has to "think" a little, the MP3s will skip and stutter. The SoundBlaster Live it's replacing never did that. I'm using the newest Hercules drivers. Anyone know how to make them...

80+/- key keyboards

I've seen pictures before of keyboards that don't include the number pad, arrows, or the home/end/pgup/pgdn buttons. I'd like to have one, it would take up a lot less desk space. I never use those keys anyway. Does anyone know who makes them? Or where I can get one?

DVD problem in WinXP

OK, my problem is not fixed. It started working and playing fine last night, now tonight it's doing the same thing. I tried the force ASPI program with no luck. I put the drive into another computer running Windows XP, and it still didn't work. I'm guessing it's a bad drive at this point :(...

DVD problem in WinXP

I installed a patch on Easy CD creator and CDs started working again, but it still won't read DVDs. I still get an "invalid format" error.

oh, and NO discs will play in the drive. CD data, audio, DVDs. actually, I've installed Easy CD creator recently, maybe that's it. I'll have to mess with that.

tonight I'm going to stick this drive in my other computer and see what happens. I hope it's not the drive. I know they're cheap now, but I don't want to spend the money on another one right now :(

My DVD player WAS working fine in WinXP pro. A couple weeks ago I rented a DVD and watched part of it, and the next day I tried to finish it and when I put the DVD into my drive, WinXP tells me to "insert a disc in drive G:" PowerDVD tells me there's no disc in drive G:. Now it doesn't matter...

TCP/IP networking with Win2K and Whistler

NetBEUI doesn't appear to be included with this beta of Whistler. It's not listed as installable. Besides that, doesn't TCP/IP offer greater performance? Computer 2 doesn't show up in Network Places on Computer 1, and Computer 1 doesn't show up in Network Places on Computer 2. Same...

TCP/IP networking with Win2K and Whistler

I just set up a router with FreeSCO, and am getting my two main desktop systems networked. Both were running Win2K, and NetBEUI worked. I stuck a Whistler beta on the 2nd machine, and it doesn't appear to come with NetBEUI. I'm trying to get them networked using TCP/IP and am having problems...

FreeSCO Vs. LRP -- which is better?
