What kind of person actually votes to live under a dictatorship?
What's wrong with these people?
I implore you to open your eyes and look around the world.
There are many forms of tyranny that masquerade as Democracies. FFS, Saddam Hussein won "elections".

Once you observe the truth, that VERY FEW people today live in a Democracy, and that they themselves are just a small blip in a few thousand years of human history. "Western Civilization", the concept of voting, is an aberrant change from the norm. Most humans have always simply done what their master tells them to do. Full stop.

What makes you think people are capable of making choices at all? Even in a real Democracy, we are subject to our primal instincts and will use our real votes for bad outcomes. We cannot preserve a fragile system that we do not respect. And as humans we were only capable of respecting it for so long. Without safe guards to indoctrinate us towards our own system, of putting country BEFORE party.... before self...

In America's hubris we never did what was required to preserve our Democracy. In the name of Freedom we will let our people tear it apart piece by piece until there is nothing left, including our Freedom.

They want power for the outcomes they desire. Nothing else matters.
What is wrong with them? They are human. We are simply doing what we have always done, and always will do. Act with a tribal, zealous, delusion. Traits that are incompatible with Democratic choice. Founders warned us that our Democracy required that we maintain an educated populace. They weren't talking college.

Too much animosity. There are other similar possibles that have done nothing but wash his balls constantly (Stefanik, Noem, MTG). I also doubt that the typical Haley voter is just going to be like "well, she's the VP so I guess I can overlook all the reasons why he's a fucking idiot that I've already said I won't support if he's the nominee".

His VP pick will almost assuredly be someone that did not run against him in the primary. His ego won't allow that. He'd be too offended that they dared to challenge the throne. He'll take their endorsement, make a demeaning joke about them using his assigned nickname for them, and then cast them off into the MAGA hellscape.

I'm going to wait until Oct 1st to start stockpiling food and supplies on the boat. If things go south, the escape window closes on 1/20/25. I plan to be gone long before that.

Other than my dog and daughter that's still single, I have no idea who else I'll take.

A few here keep wanting to give Haley voters the benefit of the doubt and they will stick to their word come November. Ultimately these Repugnicans will choose party over country

Some probably will. But ANY meaningful amount that don't is basically death to his chances because he's not adding any new voters or pulling in any independents.

At what point are people going to acknowledge that the GOP has done nothing but lose power ever since Trump got elected?

Like, how many more disastrous elections do the Republicans have to suffer before people start saying the quiet part out loud: Trump was and continues to be the best thing that ever happened to the Democratic Party.

I just worry that we cant rely on Trump being the usual emotional dumpsterfire that he used to be, he seems broken to me. You will have a much better "feel" for what Haley supporters will stand for and what not. So. Ok.

This is pretty disappointing from Porter, who I voted for. It was not rigged. Just graciously lose the election even though Schiff ratfucked you with Garvey. It was a legitimate ratfucking.

Rule #1 in politics: it's is a blood sport. It's a good thing overall that this race isn't going to be some Dem vs Dem matchup that will suck money out of other races.

Throwing out the term "rigged" in current times of the rise in illiberalism and hatred for democracy is also a bad thing. You just give your political enemies more cover for their own schemes to actually rig things.

Why the fuck was she running vs Schiff? She is a gem, move her somewhere useful?
Open Senate seats don't come around often, and she was a "rising star" for Democrats. Unfortunately she ran into a very strong opponent.

Hopefully Dems hold her 47th district; but if not, she could try to reclaim it in 2026. Neighboring CA-40 could be a possibility; it's R+2 according to Cook PVI.

It would have been the most expensive Senate race in history if both Dems pulled through. This was the correct result.
