The US embassy issued a specific threat weeks ago to its citizens to avoid large gatherings/venues. Putin responded to his people before the attack the warning was bogus and it was just the US trying to scare Russia

Moscow still hasent told their people. I guess they are getting their propaganda together. Putting on my predictive hat with the following.

Putin will try to blame the US, Ukraine and people opposed to the war. Fox News and Republicans will blame Joe Biden.

None of those dogs will hunt. US publicly warned Russia it was coming. Putin publicly announced the US was lying. It happened just 3 days later. ISIS is publicly claiming responsibility. Sure the usual conspiracy loons and magats will fall for that shit but it will never gain mainstream traction.

Doesn’t need mainstream traction. Just enough vocal nut jobs is bad enough.

Wonder if this will be the start of putin's fall. His whole mystique is "I'm a strong man and I'll protect you"

We firebombed entire cities to stop the Nazi's march across Europe.
Is it wrong to want to revisit such efforts today?

Russia is an enemy who is actively at war to cause Genocide.
I cannot but endorse anything and everything that reduces them.
With history for context, it doesn't seem wrong for our opponents to fall by any means given their actions.

So with Putin being forewarned, isn't it possible that he simply stood back and let it happen thinking it's more to his advantage than not?

Hard to see how its too his advantage. His position has been generally weakening since the Ukraine invasion and now this act of domestic terrorism may
1) undercut the narrative of putin being a good protector of the people
2) make him direct resources from the Ukraine war to fighting ISIS in order to not appear weak (people will want revenge/justice whatever)

That is beside the point. I raise the morality behind what has occurred.

With History as a teacher, we should apply the appropriate context to Genocidal armies of conquest wiping out entire nations. Their actions are the worst evil of mankind. We must oppose them with absolutely anything and everything.

If ISIS wants to slaughter Russians, I say Russia deserves to receive nothing less than what Russia has given. Due to the severity of their actions these past two years, no holds barred.
This equation would change if Russia wanted peace and returned back home. We all know Russia only wants more blood.

Depends on your definition of "revisit", I suppose. Putin claims Ukraine is being run by Nazis. Absurd, obviously, but it's the official party line.

Unless Putin redirects by claiming Ukraine and ISIS are forming a new Axis or some such propaganda. It would redirect some resources away from Ukraine, but it might also bolster his popularity.

I hope people can see through the lies from politicians and their allied media, but I don't have high hopes for a majority.

What a complicated, multi-polar, world this is. Just a completely random thought, but could it be that they see Russia as too friendly with Iran?

It would have been to his disadvantage to take preventative action based on a US warning so he ignored the warning while gaslighting his people to blame America or Ukraine.

Wondering why ISIS wouldn't have done this before the Russian election?
ISIS has different offshoots who may act independently of one another. Its not just the old Iraq-Syria ISIS of before.

Right on queue as I predicted Republicans are blaming Biden as if ISIS K does anything based on US Presidents.

Pubs are claiming we shouldn’t have left. If we were still there today we would have lost many times over the number killed during the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Russia has had a problem with Islamic terrorists for awhile. They dont treat their Muslim majority regions particularly well.

Per the Ukraine thread, you can witness the results in real time.

Russian propaganda is now full steam ahead on blaming the "West" and "Ukraine". Completely ignoring the actual information on who/what/where/why. Russia has one axe to grind and people to kill and NOTHING is going to deviate them from that mission. They will simply use propaganda to help this attack fuel their Genocide.

Meanwhile, ISIS outright proves it was them with firsthand bodycam video.

This method of successfully smothering the truth with blanket outright lies through all the media outlets in their country that's completely controlled by one man must make Donny Trump orange with envy and surely must be something he will try to emulate if given the opportunity. I mean, we as a nation is in some ways already there given how one and a half major conservatively controlled media outlets are already actively parroting Putin's methods of controlling the nation's media.

We as a nation is on the verge of becoming a theocratically infected autocracy and there are over 70 million self-described misnomer "Patriots" willing to, or shall we say urgently hoping for that to happen because they prefer the emotional comfort of being lied to despite the overwhelming preponderance of factual evidence that clearly shows the falsity of their escapist fairy tale yarns.

Didn't "Russian Propaganda" say something along the lines that Ukrainians were demons or somehow tied into black magic?

In other words, anything Russia has to say when it comes to blame is like listening to Trump. No facts needed, just say whatever outlandish shit comes to mind because to the believers there is nothing too ridiculous.

And of course Trump envies Putin, and other authoritarians like Duterte and Kim. They get to do things he wouldn't due to pesky "rules" and "laws". Sure he says some of it to inflame his hemorroidal supporters, but he really would like to be the hammer pounding down some nails. If he wins the next election, I believe there's a lot of people that need to gtfo as his thin skin will be out for blood, and he'll make sure he'll have more toadies and less "Deep State" around him that might try to stop him.
