I dont know… I like the idea of somewhere nearby where I can go shoot all the guns for the weekend… And then return to civilization. All the UK/EU people going "OH HELL NO! NOT HERE!" 😆

If you actually talk to these people, you'll quickly see that what they think they would get is being American without the federal government telling them what to do. So basically they'd get all of the benefits and none of the downsides.
I was down in Texas last week and I finally figured out why Texans are required to have front license plates. It is a warning to pedestrians that they aren't going to stop regardless of whether or not you have the right of way.
Hell, everytime I would have to catch a flight at Seatac, I felt like my life was in danger. I don't know if it's here or everywhere, but people drive like shit anymore. I blame texting for the bulk of it.I've been all over the country and never seen so much total reckless disregard for driving laws with maybe Florida coming in a distant second.
It also got worse during/after COVID when lots of people simply decided red lights do not apply to them.
And there would be a strong chance enough Democrats would support this idea and make it happen.

Shitty driving is everywhere. Texas probably has the most widespread just asshole drivers. People that will speed up to keep you from completing a safe pass on a 2 lane highway with a semi coming at you. People that will speed up when someone is crossing in a cross walk, etc. It's EVERYWHERE, no doubt about it.
I also know multiple people, including myself, that have had guns pointed on them by other drivers on the highway in Texas. My former boss had a gun pulled on him when crossing a street with a walk sign when some guy wanted to turn right.
Hmm just looked it up. Lots of commercial shipping goes through Texas. Will have to account for thatWe seem to agree Texas leaving benefits the other 49. Are they a major shipping hub?
With Texas gone, we can build a new port in New Mexico.Hmm just looked it up. Lots of commercial shipping goes through Texas. Will have to account for that

Can we stop talking in this thread? It keeps getting bumped up, and every time I come on the forum lately I see the title that says Texas is just about to secede and my heart skips a beat, going all a-flutter, just so damn happy at the thought of it! And then I realize, it's just a total dick tease and not real. I got Texas and the rest of the deep South seceding blue balls yo!
Texting is absolutely to blame for some of it.Texting to blame is wishful thinking.
It's people's nature and overpopulation..
Also a slight observation is shit like that happens less when there are not long waiting lines to just get into the lane you want and actually start moving.
But go onto the BQE and it's like pulling teeth which annoys the hell out of everyone!
I think some people are just scrolling through shit while driving, I've nearly been hit by quite a few people just staring down at their phone while making turns it's ridiculous.Texting is absolutely to blame for some of it.

I like my streaming music. I would have to start downloading playlists….ugh.Think we can do more than that.. new laws where phone goes airplane mode once Car starts moving!
That should just about get the Texans to actually secede!
Why the fuck are people like that? The only times in my life I've had someone cut me off then slam on their brakes (to be an asshole, not because someone is in front of them), then swerve all over the place to keep me from passing have all been in Texas. And it isn't once or twice. That has happened to me while driving at least 5 times, and happened when I was a passenger at least that many more times. And I've never lived there!
