This is all on the parents for not immunizing their children. It's hard to believe that a child has to die from a preventable disease now.

The antivax chickens are coming back to roost.

Public Health Ontario says a young child has died after being hospitalized for measles — the first such death in more than a decade.

A report published Thursday says the child was under five years old and not immunized against the virus.

The report shows there were no other measles-related deaths recorded in the province between Jan. 1, 2013 and this week.

The agency says there have been 22 confirmed cases of measles in Ontario this year, 13 of them in children.

It says 12 of the children were not immunized against measles and the other had an unknown immunization status.

Five of the children, including the one who died, required hospitalization.

A spokesperson for Ontario Health Minister Sylvia Jones expressed condolences to the grieving family.

In an emailed statement, Hannah Jensen also urged residents to stay up to date with their vaccinations to ensure they and their loved ones are protected against infectious diseases.

While the US hasn't had deaths yet, we have had 132 cases so far this year of which 81% were unvaccinated or unknown. Of the 132 70 were hospitalized. By comparison we had 58 cases in ALL of last year.

This isn't a disease to pooh pooh as a harmless childhood thing. Get your children vaccinated.

/sigh

Hopefully the parents can share their story with other anti-vaxxer parents... and not be shunned as "woke" actors or whatever.

Kids need to take some personal responsibility here, we all need to make the decision to vaccinate ourselves and keep big government out of it. This kid made their own choice and I'll make mine, stop trying to use dead kids to emotionally manipulate me into doing what liberals and big pharma want.

Gawd…when I was a kid in the 50s and early 60s, when a kid got sick with measles, chicken pox, or mumps, parents held sleepovers hoping to infect their kids…feed the herd immunity.
I must have done a dozen mumps parties…never could get it.

I get people have lost trust in the system with the whole covid agenda, but seems like a bad idea to just avoid all vaccines altogether. At least pick and choose based on risk. Measles, polio etc all that stuff is definitely worth getting vaccinated against and those vaccines at least have a pretty solid track record of safety.

So does the COVID vaccine. The only difference is familiarity. You accept the others because they were new before you were born. The original polio vaccine was released with much less testing than the COVID vaccines.

- Nah, we need to repeal the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, where liberals duped Regan into shielding vaccine companies from tort law to basically run a massive Tuskegee experiment on the American people.

Will it increase costs of vaccines and cause manufacturers to leave the market resulting in only vaccines for the wealthy? Yes, which is the reason the law was passed in the first place, but we cannot allow socialism and bleeding hearts to dictate the course of American capitalism.

Do you think that random unqualified talking heads on YouTube might have anything to do with this?

Most of those are just bringing to light facts that the main stream media won't really talk about. For example lot of young active people were getting heart issues and blood clots from the vaccine but the MSM was not really talking about that and still telling people to get the shots no matter what age or risk level. The manufacturers also had immunity from lawsuits if anyone gets harmed. That seems like a big red flag to me. Yeah they will have an opinion spin to it, but so does MSM, they are just as bad, if worse. They tend to have a pro government/authority agenda too. Just look at how they talked against the convoy protestors, but yet you don't see them talking the same way against the Hamas protesters. You know, ACTUAL terrorists. Not bouncy castles and street hockey. They focused on the single person that brought a nazi flag, instead of focusing on everything else that was good, while the live streams on Youtube were way more accurate of what was going on. MSM is not the end all be all of truth, it is propaganda paid for by the government. Random people talking on social media is actually closer to the truth especially when multiple sources agree on the same things and it's based on facts that they saw for themselves or that you can lookup for yourself.

Typically you can also look this stuff up. For example all the talk about agenda 2030 and the great reset, all this stuff can be looked up on official websites and you can get the info straight from the horse's mouth. The people on Youtube are just reading between the lines and analyzing it more and putting an opinion spin on it.

Mate. Seriously. If you want to make a point about vaccines it's best not to go straight into a rant that contains Hamas, Nazis, random conspiracy theories and how YouTubers know "THE TRUTH" because they have a web cam.

You missed my point. MSM is very biased, and those were examples of things where they are biased for or against. They are not the end all be all of information some of you seem to think, they are simply pushing whatever narrative is being decided by the people paying their salary and becoming millionaires off said narrative. The entire covid narrative was run by MSM and TV doctors. The narrative now has switched to wars. Lot of money in that too. To not look at other sources too and simply use common sense thinking is being very closed minded. Now days it seems doing your own research is frowned upon. Just do what the TV tells you!
