Yep. There is a line at the factory with other orders first. Wouldn't it technically also need congressional approval? Just slow walk that process since it wouldn't be a priority over tax cuts.

Yes, the production wait might legitimately stretch out at least that far and they would be at the very end of the line. Delaying congressional approval would push it even further.

India operates a real random assortment of aircraft. Everything from Mig-29 to Rafael. They were offered F-16Vs but haven't taken us up on it.

Isn't the F35 and F22 due to replacement soon?

Hopefully by the time they get it and send the schematics to the Russkies.. we've got 6th gen fighters already. I hear Japan is working on one.

The Air Force and the Navy both have next generation aircraft programs going but it will be many many years before that translates into stuff coming off the line. F-35 is in full rate production and will be for quite a long time.

I am skeptical of India's interest in actually obtaining them and also skeptical of Moscow being able to apply a lot of whatever they might learn. Still should be avoided however.

No. The F35 is still rolling out. The F22 is no longer in production, but it still in active service.

The F35 is going to around for the next 50 years.
The f22 replacement is already under development and the navy also a version in the works.

It is believed that these programs are at risk because Team Trump is being told to cancel them.
Because reasons spoken with specific Russian and South African accents

Sounds like the concept of a plan for a possible sale, perhaps sometime in the future or whenever....

I remember when we feared letting Turkey, a NATO member, have them due to mixed loyalty.

More Russian, why? China might be enemy of Russia eventually, so Russia wants the only ethnichally similar which is the US.
