What? The fuck it doesn't violate the laws.. IT violates our constitution. those pictures are not a legal reason to deport her, as they do not break a single fucking law. Doing so violates the constitution.. which protects her and everyone else, citizen or non citizen. If you think otherwise, you are accepting illegal and unconstitutional means as legal, and you are part of the problem. What you are saying is our constitution only applies to citizens, which is false.

But since you claim it's happened before, can you please give us an example of where a person who is legally entering this country, with a legal visa, was refused entry, and sent back to another country, for having pictures on their phone, that didn't violate a single law. I will wait.
It is a problem of defn. She didn't clear custom; they did not deport her rather they denied her entry.

What the fuck does defn mean, use your words and speak fucking engllish.

Now, how can you even function twisting and manipulating the truth so much? Explain how they have the right to access her phone if she isn't being held, and was simply denied entry, based on the pictures they found on her phone, which where deleted a couple days before returning to the US? As I said before, sounds like they where on a fishing expadition.

"A Brown University assistant professor and doctor was deported over the weekend from Boston to Lebanon after federal agents found photos of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Iran’s supreme leader on her cell phone..."

and now it's claimed she admitted to attending hezboliah's funeral.. which also isn't a crime.. specially since there are many reasons people attend funerals.. some don't do it for support of the person, but for closure.

In case you don't trust CNN, here is fox news:

So please, tell us again she wasn't deported you lying son of of a bitch! Also, still waiting for that an example of other President's doing the same thing, as you claimed they have done, based on finding legal photo's on their phone.

This one hits hard. My oldest kid is a branch manager for lfpl.org.

An executive order signed by the president on Friday March 14 slashes funding to seven federal agencies: the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, U.S. Agency for Global Media, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in the Smithsonian Institution, Institute of Museum and Library Services, U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, Community Development Financial Institutions Fund and Minority Business Development Agency.

In protest of the order, the American Library Association released a statement that encourages the president to reconsider his "short-sighted decision."

"By eliminating the only federal agency dedicated to funding library services, the Trump administration’s executive order is cutting off at the knees the most beloved and trusted of American institutions and the staff and services they offer," the statement reads, citing examples of summer reading programs for kids, braille books for readers with visual impairments and small business support for entrepreneurs.

I liked this article on where to go from here.

Some of us have been sounding the YIMBYism bell for awhile, as well as an abundance agenda, but little to no Democrats use this as a talking point, much less to guide policy.

That sounds like all they do is DEI. (DEI = anything not aimed at cis white men with no disabilities)

What? How do you deal with yourself on a daily basis then, as you are the one with the substandard education, or lack the IQ, it appears. I am not the one who is talking like a child and to lazy to use their words, resorting to abbreviations that don't belong, that are normally used in math and programming, not in a forum of people talking about laws and the constitution. Hence, why I didn't assume that is what you meant because it's inapproriate to use such abbriviations in such a discussion, if you could see past your own ignorance, you would know that. Your childish and ignorant responses, is why you can't respond like and adult, and admit you are wrong. You might want to go back to high school and retake civics, learn our constitution, and how are laws are supposed to work. Do they even teach civics anymore? It makes me wonder, as it's been over 35 years since I had to take it. I am pretty sure our constitution, laws, and how our government are supposed to work hasn't changed. It's just that idiots like you choose to defend those that ignore our constitution, laws, and the checks and balances of three branches of goverment and why you believe what took place was "legal" as well as not understanding that she was deported.

But hey, if you want to "think" you are smarter than me, and "think" you are "the man" because you chose to use an abbrievation that didn't belong here, and not normally used in this type of forum, which I questioned, and is all you had to respond about, HAVE AT IT! It only makes you look like the childish chump you really are, and is more of a reflection of your character/honesty or lack there of, than anything about me.

I could imagine some might say Robert Reich is being unpatriotic. But honestly, he's only saying what I've already been thinking (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) - that it feels kind of scary to visit the US these days.

Frankly, immigration/border control types tend to be a bit scary - if you're not a local citizen - the world over, but right _now_ I think it would be double-plus anxiety-inducing to deal with the US variety, and it seems like one wouldn't feel entirely safe even once inside the country.

I'm traveling abroad with a friend in a couple of months and I plan on doing my best to pretend I'm Canadian like her

POTUS Trump displays his firm grasp of the realities of his position: /s

March 18, 2025, 9:56 a.m. ETMarch 18, 2025
Shawn McCreesh (The New York Times)
Reporting from Washington
In Trump’s post on Tuesday morning, he appeared to lay out a theory that because he won the popular vote and the swing states, he should have the power to overrule any judge who defies him. This judge, Trump wrote, “didn’t WIN the popular VOTE (by a lot!).”

Now, Trump won the popular vote by one of the slimmest margins of any candidate since the 19th century

By Peter Baker
Reporting from Washington
Nov. 22, 2024

On the night he won a second term, President-elect Donald J. Trump rejoiced in the moment. “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” he boasted. In the two and a half weeks since, his campaign has repeatedly heralded his “landslide,” even to market Trump merchandise like the “Official Trump Victory Glass.”
But by traditional numeric measures, Mr. Trump’s victory was neither unprecedented nor a landslide. In fact, he prevailed with one of the smallest margins of victory in the popular vote since the 19th century and generated little of the coattails of a true landslide.

And miss the opportunity to express your indignation? You don't have to defend America. You can excoriate her. Instead you pretend to be Canadian? Personally, I'm outraged. You do you.

To be honest there are times like when Trump is president that I rather be Canadian than American....
