The two biggest things that stand out to me are when they say "sore-y" versus "sawrry" and "oot" versus "owt". The point of the story is not to feel bad for the dude because he lost a gig, it's about WHY he lost the gig. He lost it because the Canadian company he contracted with no longer wants to contract with Americans.

Lots of Americans are losing money and will be losing jobs. The tourism drop alone is going to cost tens of thousands of job loss.
