The only thing missing now is a Strix Halo based workstation laptop.

Yup, hopefully coming later this year.

Also, there was some news that Dell was working on more standardization of Alienware desktop, for the latest model. So if the set up is standardized, then they can offer AMD CPU with V-Cache at some point.

Going back to the "Pro" line of laptops, which lists 12 models, 2 of the 12 are not CoPilot compatible (Raptor Lake) and a Dell rep said that Dell is planning move to only CoPilot compatible offering for business, so the 2 Raptor Lake models may not be offered for too much longer.

Which would result in 5 Intel and 5 AMD models offered.

Some thought this day would never this day: Dell commercial PC with AMD processors.
But it came 2 months too late, since my company told me to pick-up a replacement laptop in February, so I had to go with RaptorLake HX as we are only using Dell laptops (sad thing is it was even too early for Arrow Lake). Now I wonder if it catching on fire would be in the end a good or bad thing...

You could try to dump it on a colleague or some other worker and get a 285HX laptop. You can get them excited by saying it is codenamed Raptor and that it will rip through workloads and absolutely shred them.

If he/she complains of the heat/noise, tell them the Raptor needs to breathe. HARD.

NO POLITICS ALLOWED. YOU CAN SAY TARRIFS BUT IF U START NAMING POLITICAL PEOPLE, I WILL DROP THE HAMMER ON YOU FASTER THEN THE RODS OF GODS FROM SPACE.

So far, I see:
- mid range CoPilot with Kracken CPU (Ryzen 350)
- lower range with Hawk Point (Ryzen 220)
- a Threadripper (!!!) workstation.
- Micro Mini PC desktop (Phoenix)
- Tower desktop (Phoenix)

Here is the Kraken version. All of the laptops have a ship date of April 24.

+200% Tariff's already? /s

Dell stock was hit particularly hard last couple of days. But those (inflated) prices are comparable to their inflated Intel prices. My guess is that bigger enterprises get some discount from these list prices.

And all these prices were prior to the tariff announcement, so who know what will happen to them.

BTW, no one seems to know how the tariff will be calculated, if there is sort of netting, in order to exempt semiconductors as intended.

In either case, Dell cost of the imported laptop that costs $2,000 may be $600, which is what would be subject to tariff (without netting out the semiconductors).

I think it makes sense that AMD decided that if they were gonna waste some die space on two low power cores, best not to make them almost completely useless like Intel's Meteor Lake LP cores. And I believe their strategy is always to do things that help them in future. So spending the effort to make these performant LP cores could pay itself big time if AMD incorporates these LP cores as normal E-cores along with Zen6c cores acting as P-cores in a very power efficient SKU.

at 1080P. Do people game at that resolution anymore ?
Especially with a 5090, and using DLSS?

Theyre trying to exacerbate the load on memory to get a performance difference. Seems like this goes right into the bin with the rest of reviews that test in unrealistic configurations for the sake of "isolating variables".

Edit: they also tested with a 9950X, which also exacerbates the memory load. What 5090 owner isnt rocking a 9800X3D or 9950X3D?

Initially I was impressed and then I realized it's EXPO timings. Per HWUB using Buildzoid timings on the CL30 kit gave them another 4%:

Modified Buildzoid timings for my 96GB DDR5-6400 CL32 kit, running at 6030 (100.5 BLCK) CL28

Personally, 6000 cl30 timed at EXPO pretty much maxes GENERALLY the performance. I am sure there are exceptions.
