Upscaling added, though no FSR3. Only FSR2. Also, no XeSS. Guess Nvidia is supporting them and they added FSR2 only for older Nvidia cards.

Hmm where are all the critics who complained about Starfield's upscaling options?
I tried the dlss this patch it absolutely felt smoother however it made text (like in game signs) and menu text blurry.
What wasn’t mentioned and I haven’t tried it yet is they have an “in house”scaling solution which will presumably work for all card however as of now there are no promises of performance gains.
Per my experience 3.2x works much better than previous versions

Were people complaining about up-scaling? The only complaints I saw were people complaining about paying ridiculous amounts for a game that somehow is still in Alpha. Seems the bigger issue than up-scaling.

Well yeah it’s still alpha, I see no reason to go big with upfront purchases. Earning money in game takes time that is part of the fun. Many ships can be bought with in game money that doesn’t cost real world money and majority of stuff I’ve purchased in game are still available version to version.

It's more that a few outrage pimps went nuts when Starfield only supported FSR on launch. I was making fun of them.

Being serious, I believe this weekend begins a free fly week(?).
No purchase required. There will be multiple ships at the various in game shows at the convention center to try out (free).
While SC is certainly not complete, there is stuff to do.

I might have to finally hook up my flight pedals, and get back to my custom joystick creation, which is basically a hacked up 16000, with a controller stick (a replacement PS3 controller part) where the 4/8way hat is located, with that controller wired up to a teensy 3.5 board on a mini usb hub in the base of the 16000. The computer would see it as 2 devices hooked up to the usb hub (one being the 16000, and the other being the teensy board configured flashed with a HID joystick configuration controlling 2 axes with the control stick).

My ultimate concept was to have the controller and pedals be able to handle the entire 3D flight capabilities (with strafe controls mapped to the teensy controller, using the regular stick for the normal pitch/yaw, the pedals for spin. This would then let me right hand be able to be on a mouse, which could then control any gimbal mounted weapons, as well as be there for FPS purposes where-in I would just move my other hand off the stick and onto a keyboard for keyboard/mouse FPS....

Lots of setup to do however I feel it’s possible in *I think* it’s called uncoupled mode.
Basically push C in game.

Yeah basically the mother of all crowd-funded early access games ever.

Hat's off to Robert's, the guy basically won the lottery having whales throw money at him to develop one game for the remainder of his natural life.

Why is it not released with regular patches and updates?
It's in a kinda weird limbo!
Scope creep, however there certainly is a game even in its current form. I periodically load it and play, the game does take time to literally do anything, even getting to your ship it looks like:
Spawn in a bedroom/small apartment
Put on your gear
Leave and head to the elevator
Take the elevator to the ground floor
Get to the train which can be different amounts of distance depending upon what system space ports are less time, ground ports take more time
Travel to the space port
Use a terminal to spawn your ship
Blast off! Get to orbit which takes some time mostly dependent on which ship
Chart a course to where you are going and hyperspace travel this also can take time depending on the ship, drive speed/power and distance.

I find these items fairly entertaining but be warned it can take time to get anywhere. SC is not a game that you play for 20 to 30 minutes

Just an aside, but in terms of money spent to produce and operate the game, Genshin Impact has surpassed Star Citizen. Unless someone already mentioned it in this thread but I don't think anyone has? Oh, Black Ops: Cold War cost $850 million for some ungodly reason, so it surpassed Star Citizen as well.

Genshin Impact actually has revenue. I mean they are on year 4 and income of 1B for the year is cause for concern for them. Total global revenue is over 10B.

Also if you are trading you need to physically load & unload your cargo which again takes some amount of time. I like this mechanic but again it adds time to getting stuff done.

True. For Star Citizen, their dev expenses ARE their revenue.

Very true, but as has been pointed out, the dev costs of this so far is not out of the extremes of the costs of other games. Lots of people might not like that it is taking this long, but the scope of the game is pretty beyond anything that had been tried at the time of initially development work, and even to this day it seems to be beyond most other games. It is the fully simulating of items and systems that is a real difference against other games (i.e. skill based aiming and damage to ship/vehicle/person and subsystems in a proper simulated fashion, like blowing up a particular thruster means that ship can not maneuver in the manor that the thruster provided thrust vectoring capabilities).

Great point except for the fact that the game will never be released so...

And this is very possible and probably likely however as of now there certainly is a game to be played. This isn’t saying spend tons of cash on a ship it’s just saying if you spent money on the last or if you like the idea of SC and can tolerate the risk a $40-ish dollar entry cost isn’t that bad.
