The whole needing a passport for Canada thing is still ridiculous. I remember driving up to Winnipeg all the time and just waving my license at the border guy.
For some reason this was justified by 9/11, even though all of them had valid passports.
OK, if the so called need is ridiculous, then, most likely it's because it really isn't a need. That is what I hear you saying. and if so I agree. So a question that comes immediately to mind for me after that, then, is how did it get to be absurdly experienced as a need. I think the answer is clearly that it is a need that comes into existence because of fear and the fear is of the other, someone,
something, external and other, that hasn't been conditioned to have the same sacred cows that we do, that which we can mentally identify is different, like a foreign citizen, something to which we can attribute as the cause of our suffering that is the result of imagination and thought, something we create in our own minds out of thin air, or actually out of fear we have already experienced and do not want to experience again. This is why fear is the mind killer. Everything we fear has already happened. Fear is the constriction of all emotion of love and empathy.
