I can't tell who is winning the fake MSRP war.

But I see some people commenting that they gave up on a good graphics card and settled for a 5070 because they're closer to MSRP.

So I think Nvidia is getting what they want.

From the PCGH 5060 Ti review:

With the 5090 offering 100% performance and 5060 Ti at $429, this equates to the 5090 having a proper price of only about $1300 max. This can be seen in a number of ways:

1) 5090 is overpriced.

2) 5060 Ti is Jensen's gift to gamers.

3) Jensen can't do math anymore and refuses to let anyone else do it for him.

Well, I wouldn't really use this on anything but a HTPC, but that said, I wouldn't use any of the other 50XX series until they fix the power issue, but given things have only gotten worse since the 40XX series, I don't suspect I will be buying one at all for any of my gaming/main PC's. I can't believe the EU has not forced a recall due to fire hazzard.

I know the EU consumer laws are top notch, but doesn't someone have to file a formal complaint before anything gets done? I'd be curious to know if anyone has brought this to their attention.

I think there needs to be a formal investigation and professional testing from some of the consumer protection agencies before anything happens. Since the availability is so low, the problem is probably not widespread enough to do something about it.

Since they are all made in China now, with 125% tariffs tack on!
Somebody smoking something other than the vapors from the melting power cables on the 50XX series cards...

ASUS makes their cards in Vietnam and Taiwan. PC Partner started moving out of China last November (they manufacture all the cards for Zotac, Inno3d and Manli) for Singapore and Indonesia (they are the second largest GPU manufacturer in the world). ASRock makes their cards in Taiwan, and looking at Vietnam as well (I believe they are an ASUS affiliate/subsidiary now?).

Really only Gigabyte is still made in China.

- Now they get to use the tariffs as an excuse to pocket higher margins since the rollout has been such a confusing mess most people won't actually know how much more their stuff is actually supposed to cost.

ASRock had stated they were being proactive in moving production from China. I am sorry I don't remember the link where I read it. Could be their site itself.

Sapphire, 100% China.

ASRock was at least some point since AM3+ wholly separated from Asus, but I don't know if Asus got a Parent that made ASRock their step sibling.

IDK if Asus got bought and merged, kidding aside. They did completely separate at some point after AM3+.

ASRock used to be owned by ASUS, as a more budget consumer line.
It did so well, that later ASUS wanted to kill ASRock.
ASRock split from ASUS a while back.

This Youtube shorts tells the story better:
