Or for the price of a decent used car that is not a buy here pay here place. (think younger people) Back in my day!!!! I bought my first car for $100. (back when I would get yelled at to get off their lawn) You know that house that is on the corner walking home from school and you would cut across to the other street.no i refuse to buy a GPU that cost more then my CPU + Board + Ram combined.
That is just stupid, and u know how expensive my 3 are.
I have an opinion. I know I know, you are all aghast at the very idea I would weigh in on an issue. Especially with an unpopular POV.Decent video on system building in 2025 by Iceberg. The $1k usd system can play quite a bit of free or cheap games at decent performance levels. Why buy overpriced junk for overpriced junk games?
I saw this coming and bumped up my Nvidia stock a few months ago. On one hand, this pisses me off to no end because it means the GPU prices will only go up and stay up, on the other hand, so will my stock value...Great. More companies are utilizing gaming GPUs for their AI models. This will surely help pricing /s https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-i...ai-models-with-gaming-gpu-setup-under-usd100k

Prepare your buttholes, it is about to get worse. https://www.pcguide.com/news/nvidia...he-board-as-company-hit-by-surge-in-us-costs/-Market is so divorced from reality right now that Jen Hsun could crap in a box and Trump could slap a 1000% tarrifs on it and NVDA would be skying.
Yeah, I don't regret getting a 6800XT either.Oh, joy. Glad I got a 6700XT almost two years ago I guess.

Those cards are aging well. IIRC you both got them for good prices too. My RX 6800 served me well for a year. Now it's been sitting in its box for 18 months? The way things are going I'll get most of my money back if I time it right.Yeah, I don't regret getting a 6800XT either.
I'm feeling smarter and smarter all the time for jumping on that $600 7900XT deal I posted about around here back in November. ^_^ 20gb vram is all I'm gonna need til it's time to upgrade. I learned my lesson. I passed on $500 rtx 2080 cards because everybody was saying "the 3080 is only $700 and is just around the corner" only to never see one in person ever and the cheapest 3070s being $1000 on newegg. No way I'm making that mistake again! Strike while the iron is hot!
In practice, this means that current-carrying paths are often routed up to the load limit of the thermal and electrical specification, with no additional leeway for ageing, manufacturing variation or load peaks. This results in structures that function reliably under ideal conditions but react sensitively to minor deviations in cooling, placement or load distribution. The resulting local hotspots are therefore an expression of a supply system that works in principle but is not designed to be robust – with all the risks that this can entail in long-term operation.
Aren't the 5XXX series still having massive amounts of issues? I don't know why anyone would sink that kind of money into something so faulty. The 5090 is sporadically in stock at the local microcenters, I get texts from them about it and the price difference if I sell my 4090 is $700-800. But I'm not very interested in the card anymore in the first place, all the games I care about already work very well. I would rather upgrade my oled if I'm spending that much.
because if ur a numb nut like me who decided to upgrade his system last year, and needs a videocard because he promised his brother his 4090, then were SOL.Aren't the 5XXX series still having massive amounts of issues? I don't know why anyone would sink that kind of money into something so faulty.

Its still stupidly priced.
I will pay for founders at 1999, anything more then that, then no way.
Thats a down payment on a car, rent payment for some people, and even what most lower class / middle class take home after taxes each month.
How is stock looking for the 9070 series for everyone? As well as pricing. I'm not in the market, just curious.
