It's notable that "plurality of voters" has suddenly become the proper description of Trumps win. The majority of voters elected him, those that didn't vote don't count. Splitting hairs doesn't make Trump less of a president, it's just sour grapes, get over it.
49.8% is less than 50% + 1 vote. Trump won with a plurality of votes, not a majority. Words have meaning and the correct term is "plurality" to describe Trump's popular vote total.
Now you can accurately say he won a majority of the electoral college.
But less than half of actual voters in the 2024 election voted for Trump.
