And if that district was exposed nearly 30 to 40 years ago and billions were paid, people jailed, reforms made and numerous apologies made over decades just like the church has done would that even matter?

It would. And it does. To some it does not because they do not like Catholicism.
It does matter! It just doesn't get an organization off the hook for decades of child rape.

To be clear I actually prefer Catholicism to Protestantism and I find it a more genuine expression of the tenets of Christianity. They still raped a whole bunch of kids though and no, I'm not going to let them forget it.

Nobody was asking to be "off the hook". But reforms have been made including reporting requirements. Children are safe.

But you do you.

And that is not to say someone within the Church will act in a criminal way against a child sometime in the future as it is still made up of humans, but they will be dealt with.

And what about reforms in teaching? I know the teaching profession always needs more professionals but should vetted at least.

Near daily arrests on teaching.

I will! As for if children are safe I guess we'll find out in another few decades. After all, how long did they deny children were in danger the first time?

The children aren't safe, still. Unlike any other profession, clergy get loopholes in 33 states for reporting child sexual abuse.

I consider forcing your children into religiousity a form of abuse, for a variety of reasons, but chief among them would be the risk of sexual assault from people who are held to a different standard under the law.

“The archdiocese has a long-standing commitment to the protection of minors and the reporting and prevention of abuse, " the archdiocese said in a statement, adding that it reported Arriaga to law enforcement.

The LA Archdiocese said Arriaga-Pedroza was removed from ministry at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Downey after the allegation surfaced.

Based on arrest ratio of public schools arrests to any other organization, I would assume you also advocate for home schooling as well based on your logic?

Provide this "arrest ratio of public schools" data of yours and I'll be happy to show you why you shouldn't make shit up and create assumptions from it.

Catholics and protestants both have systemic problems with pedophiles. A weak school choice strawman doesn't change that.

Your "politicians" have issues too. Doesn't bother the people who think it's ok to marry kids and for 12year olds to give birth though, does it?

Is there anything in this world that you aren't hopelessly naive about, you ignorant sockpuppet?

No, no, no! We must not focus on the problems with public schools! The near daily headlines of arrests including teachers, coaches and sometimes even other walks of life such as researchers, scientists, even some politicians.

That would dilute our "its because of religion" narrative.

I always have trusted God but I have not always been faithful to the Commanments.

Then there is prophecy. When Jesus said one day the Jewish great temple would fall no one believed. But it did. And it was because the Jews tried to stage an uprising against the mighty Roman Empire. The temple was destroyed decades after the prophecy.

This is the problem with modern Christians on the right side of politics.

They believe in law instead of grace.

If you want to be a true Christian, you must learn that you are saved by grace, and not bound by biblical law anymore. Nothing you DO or do not DO will get you to heaven.

So once again you made an assertion that you are unable to support by citing actual data.

Very wise and I do agree, but there are some important laws such as "thou shall not steal" and "thou shall not kill" and "honor your mother and father". Thankfully the majority of humanity, religious or otherwise agrees.

In the end I think its all about the consciousness of your actions.
