Trump's approval is tanking in ways that are very likely to accelerate once the impact of tariffs starts hitting consumers. Today, we get news that the SSA is backing off plans to shutter phone services and that the admin. has backed down on student visa revocations. These phenomena are related.

This admin could have done absolutely nothing and they would have been sitting on a white hot economy and strong support from independents.

The poll numbers are a mystery to me. The approval rating is waaaay higher than it should be in any sane universe. It's like finding out 30%-50% of people not only tolerate shit sandwiches, they enjoy them, and frequently order them when going out to eat.

Yeah i know people like him in real life, I had a guy tell me last weekend that we should be patient and wait two years to see how the tariffs pan out. I asked him how we are supposed to do that when trump changes his mind so much on them, often multiple times a day. I also asked him where that patience was at the beginning of Biden's term, where it was pointed out many times inflation would take a while to come down, which it eventually did.

It's just such idiotic logic it amazes me, they can't admit to themselves trump could possibly do anything bad, it's insane.
