Somehow we drifted away from the good old days when churches were held in respect. When the fear of hell fails to increase the size of the flocked, it’s time to bring back good old fashioned burning people at the stake. Extremism in the service of virtue is never extreme even if it is said to be evil in the words of one’s own moral preachings. Hypocrisy, hysteria, hate, heresy are just h words in crossword puzzles. Make America a Christian nation again. All fundamentalists wanted really wanted from their religion was a chance to really punish evil. God just doesn’t have the stomach for it. Help him out. You never know. There may not be hell after life for the evil anyway. Why should non believers not have to live a life of crippling guilt.

Those are the core issues of conservative evangelicals, and yes they have nothing to do with the Bible. But conservative Christianity never does, it’s a tool of control and power, nothing more. The label is almost immaterial.

Part of the reason why you fail to grasp that the things I say come from a point of view, something people who can understand it in no other way call it mystical. This causes you to imagine I am saying something you have already considered and likely dismissed. In the present case you are viewing people who categorize others as evil based on delusions they imagine are real and that they do this consequence free. But that is only the result of the fact the price they pay is invisible both to you and them.

You do not see that the act of seeing the world dualistically IS the actual source of suffering. This happens because of an unconscious motivation not to be consciously aware of your and their inner misery. Just as you do not believe the kingdom of heaven is within you you also do not see you are experiencing a living hell.

All spirituality and real religion are really about is dying a psychic death, taking a path that leads to hell that the you you believe yourself to be is a cage from which your ego will try to help you escape and all the while you never discover it’s directing you 180 degrees from the exit.
