I already give that and more in payroll taxes, sorry. Maybe you can ask for the 5% through the state of CA or the Federal government.

My employer went through a 5% force reduction last year but it was achieved through voluntary separation because people where offered packages with incentives to separate. I don't really see 5% as a big number, it only looks big because UPS has 400k+ employees in the US.
Okay so I’ll take 5% of your pay.

Yes, all recent quotes from Emerson/Rosemount instrumentation now includes a line item for tariffs.

Micromotion does all their welding and assembly in Boulder. That $600 is just for the materials. It would be more otherwise.
Yes, that is correct.

The thought of him winning? YAY GO MARKETS!!! 101 days INTO him in office? Boooo fuck you Biden, still.

The all caps is a nice touch, when he finally croaks, his brain needs to be studied. a lot of people BS constantly, but he might actually believe the shit that comes out of his mouth.

When he was projected to win that caused the stock market to surge, but when he was actually won and it crashed, it was because of Biden. I'm trying to think how uneducated a person would have to be for that to make any damn sense. I remember things were pretty good under Biden. And far less than 100 days into his 2nd term, things were already going to shit. How any logic can be used to place any of the blame on Biden is far beyond me.

But the MAGAs are assuring me the county might need a great depression before things get better - and they will get better. Apparently things were so bad they have to get worse 1st for good to follow. I don't understand this at all, but they are beyond confident that Trump knows what he's doing and this will work in the end.

This was left on a YT video, I thought it had to be a bot, but I replied and ended up going back and forth with them about 4 times, so it's either a troll or a MAGA who really believes in fairytales.

Instant gratification is a plague on this country. Success takes an incredible amount of vision, sacrifice, patience and TIME. People can’t be that naive to think Trump could fix all this mess in a few months? I’m sure!

So fixing it will require "patience and TIME" but he was able to create all this mess with no time needed? That makes perfect sense...

You, uh, haven't figured this out yet? It's pretty simple.

well I hope he loses everything and becomes addicted to oxy.

republicans really need to start learning what consequences mean. Fucking sick and tried of them supporting the most insane ideas of reality and never paying for any of it because liberals are always out their protecting them from their worst instincts. Republicans need to, for the first time in their lives, experience everything they actually desire.
Drives me absolutely nuts seeing the Democrats bend over backwards doing things like funding rural infrastructure knowing it won't get them a single damn vote in these areas and then the Republicans who fought them on it the whole way take credit for it once it's done. God I used to love small town America until they all got charmed by the silver tongued New Yorker though maybe I would have seen the rot earlier if I wasn't the right skin color whenever I visited these areas in the past.

Another good video with a good point. When tariffs comes down and the Chinese manufacturers see they might be able to charge extra for some products, as they were still selling with high tariffs.... Well they'll increase the price.

Posting an image of it I found on Reddit.
Basically Trump is boasting of empty shelves and higher prices. Like it is a good thing.
"Biden" did trade, so trade bad.

I sort of agree with him on the flood of crap no one needs. Also, if Americans spend less time shopping, they’ll have more time to overthrow the current regime.

I find myself agreeing with it too, and even called Trump the environmentalist president when all this tariff stuff first started. I don’t think he’d like that characterization and don’t think he would agree with this reasoning lol.

From a strictly objective perspective it seems to me the tariffs, if not removed, will do a few things:

1.) Make goods imported from other countries more expensive, thus reducing overall consumerism in the US.

2.) Force China and other large exporters to the US to sell elsewhere, perhaps at even lower prices, possibly increasing overall consumerism for many other countries.

3.) By varying degrees, depending on how things end up, bring the US stock market back to 2000's and '10's levels, and destroy hundreds of thousands of small businesses that strongly rely on overseas production.

4.) Make virtually everything more expensive for everyone in the US.

5.) Onshore some manufacturing work, but very little in the grand scheme of things.

6.) Alienate a ton of trading partners, and hurt their economies while hurting ours.
