We were at a small state park last weekend, maybe 20-30 parking spots, two of them had Cybertrucks in them 🤮

As if Tesla/CyberTruck needed any more bad press:

Too early to know what happened, but we live in a litigious society. This is a top recruit, scion of big name NBA talent who was getting ready to play with LeBron’s other son at USC, and who just dropped 63 points in a recent game and took his prep school team to back-to-back Finals.
0-60 in under 5 seconds. What could go wrong?

18-year-old kid wrecks expensive new car at 5 a.m. Who's he gonna sue, his dad?

I worked at Cajun Cycles in the 80s putting the bikes together out of the shipping crates. Every Yamaha dealer got two VMax models. Yep, we all test rode em… around the parking lot.

Both of ours sold in weeks. Both came back on wreckers within months. Rich oilfield trash kidlets with zero skills on that pocket rocket.

So cringe. Also, goes around telling everyone he's not the DOGE administrator and then says he's the head of DOGE... I'm surprised at the level of patience some federal courts have had (though, it's looking in some cases, the patience of district court and appeals court justices is starting to wear thin).

In other Leon/Tesla news, I just read an article in The Independent about Sheryl Crow having an armed intruder on her property probably because of her viral Tesla send-off video. She moved from LA to TN in 2003 to be near her family and likes it there, but struggles with the politics. She calls Marsha Blackburn and her congressman every day. Go Sheryl!

It links to a nice article in Vanity Fair. And of course there are mean comments from MAGAts telling her to go back to LA and not Californicate lovely “conservative” TN.

Incredible performance, but I could never get past the power ranger looks. Even my V-Rod had far more get up and go than any sane person needs.

Yeah I doubt he goes back to Tesla in any meaningful way if only because he doesn't seem interested at all in it. He's getting oodles of right wing media attention by being in proximity to Trump which is what he really craves. As a company when stockholders decide that it's cooked, because it really looks like they're going to be, and it's meme status collapses that will be all she wrote. China tariffs are going to strangle their storage biz, unit sales falling, product lineup is not great or catastrophic (CT), and the CEO is rapidly becoming the most hated man in America.

I agree with you a lot but from the energy storage side, there is a lot of companies besides Tesla that use LFP cells. I bet every energy storage company that uses LFP battery cells is having strategy meetings to figure out how to deal with this tariff increase on energy cells. Essentially tariff's are going to act as a brake on the electric car industry and energy storage industry. I think Republicans will be happy about this.

As far as the Tesla stock price, it literally makes no sense at it's current level. If I was at Tesla I would do a capital raise to bolster the balance sheet before the stock tanks. Massive correction is coming.

Yes the tariff on LFP batteries will impact all users. For Tesla it was kind of the one bright spot in terms of growth now and it might go away.

I find it hard to bet that Elon will depart from Tesla in a meaningful way. I'm not counting it out, but at best it's a coin flip, if not leaning to staying with Tesla as CEO or in some other role but basically still running shit.

Tesla is already in process of bringing LFP battery cell production to the US in Sparks Nevada. Tesla is buying manufacturing equipment from CATL. Not sure how this will all turn out, however Tesla was already pivoting to on-shoring LFP battery production. Also from terms of growth in the energy storage market. Tesla also has a mega-pack factory in Shanghai that is ramping up production for selling mega-packs outside the US.

If Elon leaves then its part of a rehabilitation stretch where he gets off the ketamine and become one with Jesus... without it being a trick. This guy have had 10.000 warning shots while still standing fast on the deck of the sinking nazi ship... Guy Will Not Change Willingly.

Why would he change? He's the super-best genius with the best ideas, everyone says so.
Well, except for those woke mind-virus pedos.

Yea so he wont ... well, suppose he has a super close OD call or something like it ... then maybe he'd come out on the other side "thinking".

Ah was wondering why he hasn’t been given the boot yet with the boycotts and insane drop in sales.
Many U.S. corporate boards are captive, but Tesla's is particularly egregious.

He can't just walk away swiftly. About half his paper net worth is tied up in TSLA, and it'll deflate if he's not the CEO. Witness after their disastrous Q1, the stock has rallied just because Elon said his work at DOGE is mostly over. 🤣

Quite frankly he does sound bored with BEVs, so I'm not arguing that he should and will stick around long-term. Just that short-term, the RDF is still strong so he's boxed in despite their auto business rapidly deteriorating. OTOH he's more or less on record as saying if he doesn't get his juicy $50B+ compensation package, he'll walk away.

I have no idea at what share price he'd face a margin call, but people here like to speculate about it.
