aside from being an absolute genius when it comes to film, i am also an amazing pizza chef.

yours is acceptable.

I would recommend higher temperature, if you can, and less ingredients. I dont mean "less choice", less stuff overall.
Char the peppers skin-side down. Even better, char and then package, and then skin when cold.
frankly, i do not hate pineapple on pizza. Yes i know, my italian ancestors are raising from the grave. I wouldn't have it on italian pizza, but it does work with american ham.
if you are going to go for black olives, use the cured ones; their taste will actually survive cooking.
basil please.
a Witt Etna Rotante if you can, if possibly the best solution for pizza available today.

having said that, i dont really "sometimes get it wrong". Ok yeah, i got it wrong with Up In The Air, i got it wrong with Margin Call, but rarely-if-ever do i actually get it wrong. Not in the proportions you are thinking of. When we disagree it doesn't matter that we disagree, it doesn't make me wrong.

Love the pizza skills. Listen, how about you make yourself a favorite pizza pie before you watch Andor again. Maybe you need to just go into it with a positive mindset.

Because I want my wall of text complaining about it. Duh.
In case he isn't interested in trying out McD just for your wall of text, I asked ChatGPT:

I don't really get how people rave about McDonald's food the way they do. Sure, I’ve had my moments where I’ve picked up a burger or fries and thought, “Eh, not bad,” but honestly? I rarely find myself genuinely craving it, and even more rarely do I walk away satisfied. It’s not that I’m impossible to please; it’s just that I see it for what it is. When I say their fries are just okay, I’m not wrong—it's a fact based on my experience. If you love McDonald's fries, that’s fine, but that doesn’t mean I’m wrong for not feeling the same way.

And I don’t expect everyone to agree with me. That’s the thing—my opinion is shaped by what I’ve experienced, my taste buds, my standards. If I say the burger is greasy and overhyped, that’s my honest assessment. If you think it’s the best thing since sliced bread, that’s your experience talking, and I respect that. But to say I’m wrong because I don’t see it your way? That’s where we get into trouble.

There’s a philosophical truth here: if we both ate the same meal in the same circumstances, maybe we’d see it differently. But my judgment isn’t about right or wrong; it’s about my personal perspective. And mine, honestly, leans toward not being impressed by the sameness, the fast-food filler, the lack of real flavor or quality.

I’ve tried their chicken nuggets. They’re okay, I guess, but I don’t see what all the fuss is about. I’ve had better chicken elsewhere—more flavor, more care. And that’s a fact. If you love their nuggets, good for you, but that doesn’t mean I’m wrong for not sharing that sentiment.

Let’s be real: I don’t need to convince you to dislike what I dislike, nor do I expect you to change your mind. If McDonald's is your go-to comfort food, that’s fine. But for me, it’s just fast food, not a culinary experience. I respect people who enjoy it, but I won’t pretend it’s the pinnacle of fast-food excellence. It’s just… McDonald’s.

So now you know that ninjas are mammals.

On a tangent, recently rewatched 1993's Surf Ninjas (free on Tubi!). 3 Ninjas is OG, but Surf gets a 10/10 for nostalgia. Baby Rob Schneider!

Three Ninjas is one of my favorite childhood movies so I watched it with both of my kids this past weekend. I own the DVD however when I opened the case, I didn't have the disc in there so I'm not sure where it is. So we had to watch it on Prime.

And as many times as I have seen the original movie and love it, I had absolutely NO CLUE there was a different version. The version on Prime had so many difference scenes as well as added scenes. Some of the major scenes played out differently as well.

After watching it, I googled and apparently it's the international version on there, and it's more "mature" in that it shows more violence, has more guns, etc. But it was kind of cool to see new scenes in a movie I had seen so many times and had no clue about.

That said, the original is a lot better IMO. The extra scenes just seem unnecessary and out of place most of the time, and the way they changed stuff also felt weird/out of place, and it also made the editing feel weird/worse. There were also some sound effects left out, probably because they are childish sound effects like "boing" when people are being hit sometimes.

Does Rocky still love Emily?

The ETNA Rotante Pizza Oven preheats to 500 °C (950 °F) in only 15 minutes due to the Booster Burner below the rotating pizza stone.

My very old O'Keefe and Merritt stove's oven heats to ~500F in about 20 minutes. OK, that's not 500C! I don't know how much hotter it will get, probably not more than 550F. Anyway, I like what I'm getting. I don't know where I'd put a pizza oven.

I prep my dough, enough for 4 pizzas, ahead of time using a bread maker, refrigerate one portion or use one on the spot and freeze the other 3 balls of dough in separate containers for ensuing weekends (I make one pizza/week).

On pizza day, I put out a ball of dough on floured board and let it proof a few hours. I come back and roll it out and place on pizza screen, turn on the oven to max and get all the ingredients into a bowl and mix. Then spread about 3oz of my homemade Italian sauce on the dough (the sauce is made with my homegrown tomatoes, I have it canned in jars). I spread the mixed toppings reasonably evenly. I use a variety of fine cheeses (at least 1/2 a dozen, in discernably large pieces) and around 4 different meats (pepperoni, various kinds of sausage, bacon), onions (yellow or red), bell peppers and olives, pineapple chunks. Yes, marinated olives would be better, I'll consider that instead of the canned black olives I use.

I place in the oven (that's been heating on max while I got the toppings together for 19-22 minutes, I time that), then reset the timer to count down, lately 11 minutes. While it's baking, I clean up. When the timer goes off I turn off the oven but leave the pizza in there an additional 11 minutes, then remove and slice. Meantime, I've finished cleaning up. The whole process takes around 50 minutes. There's nothing left to do but slice, then enjoy the pizza.

I really think my appreciation of my pizzas more than anything depends on my state of mind much more than my skill in making the particular pizza I fashion.

Clearly, you've been spoiled for The Pitt, it's a pity. Myself, I've never watched any medical dramas in the past so I don't have that problem.

Scrubs would crack me up a lot when I watched it as a teenager.

They were all great comedy actors but the girl in blue, the guy next to her and the green guy were the funniest!

i dont work for Witt nor do i have any interest in promoting them, but AFAIK they are the only portable oven that has a separate burner whose job is to heat the stone from underneath. That's why it specifically needs to be the Rotante version ("rotating"). Other ovens .. such as the Oni, but really ALL other ovens, the stone will catch radiant heat from the dome and transfer it to the base of the pizza, but never in the amount of a wood oven, which the Witt instead can do.

Be warned; the retail price fluctuates wildly. It can be £699 and it can be £459. It's constantly going up and down and there is no reason to pay the top bracket.

I'm still heavily into pizza from my pizza shop days; the home pizza oven scene is pretty wild these days! I had a custom 1,000F Gustavsen grill made nearly 10 years ago:

It was pretty novel at the time. 3 power sources:

1. Crab jet burner (large enough to heat a house LOL)
2. Wood
3. Charcoal & coal

It has a grill top & a pizza dome & can be outfitted for smoking & baking. Downside is only 12" max pie size & requires manual rotatiom. Then Ooni came along. They have a compact multi-fuel ovens, an indoor electric oven, and a monster 24" gas oven:

Their first-gen 12" multi-fuel is an incredibly low $300 for 60-second pizzas at 950F: (makes real Neapolitan pizza!)

Kenhi just got an 18" & will have some interesting videos coming out:

You just couldn't BUY stuff like this before!! Now you have crazy stuff like the Scorpio oven, which is a portable unit that gas a reverse-flow draft design on a 16" rotating stone:

My current go-to recommendation is actually the 16" rotating gas Blackstone. The older model is $400 at Walmart & can be outdoor tabletop or standalone:

On a budget, I recommend the 16" x 16" @ 3/8" thick Baking Steel (WAY better than a pizza stone! Buy it for life!!). My cheapo indoor electric oven can hit 550F:

They also have some interesting indoor electric ovens on a budget as well:

It's an AMAZING time to be into making pizza at home!!

The SuperPeel is one of my favorite tools. Perfect launches every time!

https://youtu.be/zWb9iH560Xg

I use these spiffy siliconer proofing containers to freeze the dough:

I hate to say it, but pizza scissors are the best tool for cutting pizza. The very idea offends me however, lol:

This way:

1. I can make the dough once a month & freeze to use as needed
2. I have really easy processing tools for launching & cutting
3. The modern ovens make the pizza come out AWESOME!

A large pizza in my town costs $24 a pie lol. I tell myself this is a money-savings investment hahaha

I live alone and just moving that 38Kg monster would be a workout. It's very overkill for me. For a family, particularly if they want to throw pizza parties, might make sense, you can cook a bunch of pizzas quickly.

Went to the movies for The Accountant 2. The reports I've seen say it made about half of the budget in the first 5 days. 44+ million.

Husband and I both enjoyed it thoroughly. Laughed out loud more than once. The speed dating and line dancing scenes especially. Thought the chemistry of the brothers was great and it was good to see the light come on when Christian realizes the patterns and math of the line dancing and applies them and the joy Brax took in seeing his brother succeed.

I did think that, if you haven't seen the first one, the role and meaning of the Harbor Neuroscience Institute will be lost and that's a shame.
