Actually, your annalogy is even worse because squatters take over abaondoned or unoccuppied land our buildings they don't own, which is not the case here with Russia taking over land, and it takes a lengthy process to go thru the courts to remove squatters when they have been there an extensive amount of time. They don't go in and take over your home while you are at the movies, gone for the weekend, or come to your door and forcefully remove you, and gain any protections from being removed immediatly by law enforcement, or the home owner. The land that Russia has invaded is not unoccupied, and Russia hasn't occupied the territory they took over for extensive amount of time.
